What i was tryin to say is just a general point of view. Was not totally about this topic. In both of my countries ( i say countrIES, italia where my dad`s from and turkey where my mom`s ) when you discuss about Scotland Football, it always comes to a point that ppl starts to talk about Celtic and Rangers but not comments on how they play and their competition on football, but religion conflicts and violations. etc. This is quite irritating because i believe that Scotland football does not deserve to be known like this.

( PS with lol : Both of my leagues are not clear as well - Serie A and Turkish Superlig - they both have been stained by some chicane and match-fixing scandals )

This issue is when you have 2 managers who act like they did in the article above, and the way some players act on the pitch, you cant expect the fans to behave. Lennon and McCoist need to be the leaders and at least show that they respect eachother and get on, even if they dont.

DanK - what are you saying?  That because two employees of separate businesses (CFC and RFC) act in a certain manner, the customers of those businesses (the 'fans') can't be expected to maintain ordinary civic responsibilities?  That is one of the most idiotic things I have ever heard.  Adults have a reasonability to conduct themselves in an orderly and legal manner.  END. Is a sad state of affairs when group mentality for religious, racial or tribalism of clubs creates such a situation.  When i am welcome up from wales with no attachment or bigotry due to where i came from when visiting with newport gwent dragons each season in rugby i do not see how such group mentality should hold a place in football.  Having seen the same footbal problems with cardiff fans in south wales, is  a sad sign when such hooligans throw petrol bombs, use objects or barefists in front of their children to breed a new generation of hatred..

Outside the tobacco, american healthcare, oil and banking industry no one would suffer this treatment and never should including the aforementioned.  Plenty of bigger problems in society that these people could work against for a common goal, instead of the violence against each other and attempts on managers.

Being from Northern Ireland and from a protestant background you could naturally assume that I am a Rangers fan, however to me Scottish football along with Northern Irish football isn't even worth thinking about let alone watching. I prefer to watch games that are thrilling for the football that is played and not the off pitch antics. However our local news being what it is any time anything to do with Celtic and Rangers getting up to hi jinxs is broadcast. For the sake of Scottish football I actually believe that both Glasgow teams should be banned for at least a year from domestic and foreign competitions.

There has been for some time a big drive for respect in football, for the players, the officials, the managers and the fans. The best way to hurt the fans who cause 90% of the trouble both inside and outside of the grounds would be to take their beloved game away from them, make them see that any kind of behaviour of this sort will not be tolerated. Both clubs are guilty of letting their fans get away with sectarian chants, flag waving and aggressive behaviour. It's time the SFA stepped in and showed the fans that supporters like that are not welcome in the hallowed grounds of a football club.

Well now, Tom, being from Belfast and a Catholic background, you might assume I was a Celtic fan.  Truth is, I couldn't care less about football.  And, TomCollins, whilst we have large differences over conduct in the game, I think we both have the same disdain for those idiots in Scotland who seem to want to recreate the "troubles", via football or other, pointless, acts of bigotry.
