Background Story:

Born in Saigon Vietnam, John "Vihn" Tran was born into a family that had one of the largest farms on the outside of Saigon. His father worked in the fields all day while his mother tended to the household, the typical traditional way of things in an Asian household, and by the time he was eight years old, he had stopped going to school to help his father with the crops each spring. The labor was not easy, working long grueling days, he never got to experience the same kind of childhood most of his friends had, which made him resent his father secretly.

By the time he was twelve, Vinh had moved on from using his first time and chose to go by his middle name which was a traditional Vietnamese name, he wasn't very fond of his western name but with the occupation of France, it was pretty standard to have a typical westernized first name. This was another thing he resented his father over as he was the one who pushed it onto him, ignoring the fact his mother had also chosen the name.

Turning fifteen, Vinh was getting very big now, almost as big as his father, if not bigger, which lead to some pretty big altercations and Vinh choosing to leave home to join one of his childhood friends on the streets of Saigon where they preyed on the weak, stealing their coin and even beating it out of people. It was the first taste of crime which quickly lead him into prison.

Spending the majority of the rest of his teenage years in a institution, his first big lucky break came just after his twentieth birthday in 1945 when the local government had been over run by some local communists who had no love for the occupying Japanese, after the French had pulled out. Being freed by the militia, he joined and began to learn how to use a gun, how to kill someone without asking questions.. it was his first taste of blood and he instantly knew what he wanted to do with the rest of his life, pull a trigger.

Over the next few months, the country began changing and not in the way Vinh had liked, he was more then welcomed by the new regime who resided in the now "Ho Chi Minh" city which was formerly Saigon his home, but instead, he chose to flee to America with a large exodus of others who wanted to get away from the communists.

Landing in Detroit, Vinh made the most for himself as he quickly thrusted himself into the underworld and began working for who he believe was the American Mafia .. he had never met these people face to face, but was always sent a new envelope with a target in it every month, followed by a deposit of cash into his bank. He couldn't exactly complain or question anything about the arrangement..
