Cardboard boxes which had been sitting empty in the archive room for ages was now filled with meaningless stacks of paperwork, random nick-nacks and other stationary items. Basically, Kaycee had decided to officially shut down her journalism office and everything in it was being taken away or sold to charity. Everyone from her editorial team had already left, or was planning to leave. It was fun while it lasted. Kaycee understood completely that people found better work opportunities and who was she to stop them from pursuing their dream?

But sheesh, Kaycee was really going through it. On top of that, she had to move from her main job as well.

It would be weird of Kaycee to try and laugh about the whole unfortunate situation, but she couldn't help but feel like her timing was the worst. Because it just so happened that she got dismissed from her former workplace around the same time she was supposed to publish the first issue of her newspaper. Quite literally, she felt like she was being silenced to speak her mind. 

Nonetheless, it was going to be a fresh start now after relocating herself to the city of Detroit. And that final newspaper draft would have to be chucked out. 

Her first job in Detroit was a full-time barista which was pretty damn easy once she got the hang of She bumped into an old friend at the cafe she worked at - OffsidePrince. She walked over to him with the drink he requested. With each move she made her platinum blonde hair was swaying from side to side. "Don't worry," Kaycee smiled, "it's on the house." She asked if they could make plans together that night. "The cafe is a nice place to work at, you know," Kaycee reflected as she sat with him in a local bar. "But I'm living paycheck to paycheck and I just need something more stable. Do you know of anyone hiring?"
