Well, it had been a few days of traveling to Las Vegas. It was definitely a new atmosphere than Chicago. Chicago was all she knew but now she had to make Las Vegas her new home. She arrived at the strip and was amazed at all the lights. It was the most beautiful place she had ever seen. She wished her mom could be here maybe she was when she was younger, but she never shared that with her. She guessed she had to be to know of Isabella. Isabella was everything she said she would be. She did some work for her, and Isabella called upon her as soon as she was done. She felt intimidated at first, but Isabella eased her nervousness as soon as she spoke. Just the mention of her mother's name seemed to change how Isabella spoke to her. Isabella gave her an envelope with an address and sent her on her way. She got in her car and plugged in the address on her GPS. When she arrived, she wasn't sure where Isabella sent her but because of her mother, she trusted her and knew she would be watched over. In the envelope was a key so she took it out and followed the sidewalk around back. She put the key in the door, and it opened. Waiting for her was a huge bodyguard that wouldn't let her pass at first. Once she mentioned who she was he gave her a grin, "Ahhh so you've arrived. Isabella informed me you were on your way. Welcome to the family, Caitlin. Your room is upstairs on the right at the end of the hallway. Get some rest and when you are ready come back to me. I have some work for you, but I want you to get some rest. You've had a busy few days. " She smiled at the man and walked upstairs with just the clothes she arrived in. She had nothing but when she looked in the envelope there was a lot of cash too. You could have picked her mouth up off the floor when she looked inside the envelope, but she wasn't going to worry about that right now. She needed to get some sleep. It was a very long hallway. She arrived at the door. She opened it and quickly shut it. Making sure it was locked, she took a tour of the inside. It was a nice apartment, definitely more than she imagined for her first place to be on her own. It was fully furnished. When she found the bedroom, she put the air on and slipped under the covers. It didn't take her long to fall asleep. She was beat. |

Caitlin woke up rather suddenly. As she sat up in the bed, for a quick second she thought she was home with her mother but looking around the room she realized what had happened the day before. She was on her own without her mother. Tears rolled down her face as she remembered that terrible day. The memory that sticks out is how she had shot that man so accurately in the head. It was like she had used a gun for years but it was the first time she had used it professionally. Her mother had taken her for target practice ever since she came of age but never used it when it truly counted. That day will be etched in her mind til the day she dies. She got out of bed and walked around the room. She walked over to the closet and opened the door. With much to her surprise, it was filled with clothes appropriate to her new life. It must have been a gift from Isabelle. She picked out a blouse with matching pants and put them on the bed. She found a belt with a nice gun in its sheath. She took the gun into her hands. It felt good. She looked the gun over as her mother taught her and placed it back in its sheath. She picked up her clothes and went into the bathroom to go take a shower. |

It was just another day in the streets on the Strip! Caitlin was roaming the streets in her car when suddenly she heard lots of gunfire. She pulled over in a back alley but not until a few shots hit her door. She quickly got out and frowned at her beauty. Those friggin rascals are at it again. She had a feeling from the slew of emails she got from her boss, Isabelle, that war was imminent. She just didn't think this imminent. She couldn't lose Isabelle. She was like a second mother to her. She treated her so well and took care of her but the pitt in her stomach gave her a bad feeling. The hideout was just down the street. She had to get there safely to check on her friends. She took out her gun shooting her way through to the hideout killing mostly bodyguards. As she got to the door it was ajar. That was never a good sign. She sighed in desperation to find her family. As she walked in, it was a slaughter house. Everyone she found was dead. She went upstairs to the bosses office to find Isabelle slouched in a chair. She called out to her but got no response. She rushed over to and turned the chair towards her to find her dead. She knelt down and cried her heart out holding Isabelle. Memories of her mother came rushing back to her. She could hear her mother sternly telling her to get out of town before your next. "It is not your time yet my child." She stood up and gave Isabelle a kiss on her cheek. "Rest in peace my friend. I will never forget you." As tears rolled down her face as she saw her family members on the floor, she ran as fast as she could to her car. Somehow she had to survive for mother's sake. Gunfire had slowed down and she got in her car and just drove what seemed like days but it was just either hours. She got to the nearest motel and rented a room. She looked around making sure she was followed and went straight to sleep. She would tackle the day tomorrow. |

Well things have quieted down and so far she felt safe with her new family but she still always looked over her shoulder. When she went anywhere one hand was on her gun on her belt and her eyes always looked behind her back. Her mother always told her "never let your guard down" and she wasn't on planning to stop now. Things could change on a dime and so she was always prepared that at any moment could be ready to meet her maker. She got up early like she did every morning and made her way to the graveyard. It was eerie and dirty work but someone had to do it. Last week she made good money for some reason but this week things had slowed down. She supposed because of the war everyone was hiding their money elsewhere. She got her shovel out and began her grave robbing. Hopefully today she could get home early and enjoy a good home cooked meal. As she was digging her phone buzzed in her pocket. She grabbed it and it was her niece. "Rachel, how are you? Are you alright?" She listened to her frantic niece. "Alright calm down. Meet me at my house later and you can stay with me. I'll talk to your mother tonight." She hung up the phone and put it back in her pocket. It seemed her niece was having a hard time with her mother again. Maybe she would talk to her mother tonight when she got home to see if Rachel could stay with her for awhile. She didn't foresee a problem. She loved Rachel more than life itself and having her around would liven up the place. After Isabelle and the crew were killed, the house just seemed too gloomy and depressing. She would have to take their pictures down for awhile. It was just too painful to see them. Oh how she missed Isabelle but life had to go on. Maybe there would be more opportunities in the future. You just never knew what life can throw you especially in this life of ours. She continued to grave rob and then she would head home to clean up and prepare for Rachel's arrival. |
