The sun shone bright over tinseltown, today it was clear blue skies all the way, the Mediterranean climate had always agreed with Nicky, it was one of the things that first drew him to L.A., the glamour, the immorality of Hollywood specifically, it spoke to him like no place else, this was home.
Word had come down from Godfather Luciano that it was time for his loyal right hand to step up and begin his own operation, it was an opportunity that couldn’t be refused, his Godfather had called and Nicky had answered.
Standing outside the unassuming building Nicky smiled, it was perfect for his requirements, inconspicuous and secretive enough to avoid attention from LA’s finest, the entrance almost hidden during daylight would be almost imperceptible once dusk had settled if not for the dim lighting above, those who ventured inside would be met with a luxurious décor that belied the modest façade.
As vehicles laden with liquor and other assorted contraband pulled up outside, Nicky smiled once again and said to himself “let’s get this show on the road”.
The Speakeasy is open for business.
