Godfather Commissions met in the past, and decided on how day-to-day criminal enterprise was operated in this thing of ours.

I was never privy to these meetings, but I can recall reading, with rapt interest, their rulings.

For better or worse, these rulings made things interesting, and extremely lively.

Remember it was permissible to shoot someone who mugged?  Rightly or wrongly, wasn't that interesting?

Remember the experimental cities?  Rightly or wrongly, weren't they fascinating?

Remember City Death Taxes?  Rightly or wrongly, weren't they memorable?

So, with this in mind.  I have one simple question:

WHY SHOULDN'T WE HAVE A GODFATHER COMMISSION?

 I have a vague recollection. What I do recall is there was an up and down vote on decisions such as a war. That was some time ago. 

Remember it was permissible to shoot someone who mugged?  Rightly or wrongly, wasn't that interesting?

I could attest to it was acceptable to shoot if they went into your pockets instead of mugging. This was not popular but if the shooter had a set of balls nobody disputed. 

Remember the experimental cities?  Rightly or wrongly, weren't they fascinating?

 Not at all. It was an utter failure. It was a do as I say not what I do. 

Remember City Death Taxes?  Rightly or wrongly, weren't they memorable?

 This should return.

When I think of Commission that would entail having a Boss of all Bosses and one GF. It would also demand complete transparency on these streets the issue at hand that is brought to the table. 

Experimental cities could an did succeed.  The obvious one is Richard_Kuklinski's legendary stewardship of Las Vegas, but there were others.

A godfather commission wouldn't be a bad thing. Cities communicating and working together for the betterment of the society as a whole is at least in theory something desirable.

If someone has the power to back it up they can surely still do this, regardless of a commission.

I'd say it was probably fifty fifty. Sometimes they were boring as hell, but other times they provided the drama and action that people always seem to crave.

Yes, and yes. 

The obvious one is Richard_Kuklinski's legendary stewardship of Las Vegas, but there were others.

I think the most obvious one was actually DeadlySin and his rise through Vegas and going on to what he did after. I haven't heard of any more successful or fraught with conflict than that one.

Miles sees a bunch of questions regarding a Godfather Commission and decides to address this. He grabs the soap box, steps up on it, and begins to speak.

AHEM! AHEM! Listen up folks! There is a lot to unpack so lets do this!

Why is a Godfather Commission necessary when the leaders are already talking? The Commission wasn't very successful. If it was, it would still exist. Day to day activity should be up to each family as each is it's own entity. Gathering to decide if a war is needed? How smart is that? The family that is a target would be involved in a decision? Okay, leave them out and what you have is a decision made by a partial commission. Doesn't this degrade the Godfather Commission itself? One would think having alliances and not a commission is a better plan. One would think....

What does this have to do with a Godfather Commission? If this were an acceptable action it would still be permissible. Whacking someone who mugs an individual is an excessing action whether is is interesting or not and should lead to the shooter being fitted for cement shoes.

If these were so "fascinating" they would still exist. These were an utter failure.

No, I don't which is why they are not memorable. A city death tax sounds like a crazy concept which is might be why it went down. This was surely forgettable rather than memorable.

If something succeeded then it would still exist. The concept of experimental cities imploded and went away. Kuklinski never had a stewardship that was "legendary." DeadlySin did though. More than once.

There is already communication between the leaders. In fact, it appears one city in particular is setting up across the Country and attempting to keep control of those cities. Something is wrong though. The number of inactive leaders and hands is at it's highest. One former CL has gone completely missing. All in all, this person should have been fish fodder long ago yet he has been protective by a GF that is "Obscenely Inactive."

Commissions are pointless as they inevitably dissolve when there are leadership changes. CL's have their own way of leading. Friends are fine.

Miles steps down from the soapbox, looks around for cops and kicks the soapbox through a storefront window when none were seen. He slinks off in the direction of the nearest speakeasy.

That is a fact. You left out the part where the Obscenely Inactive GF only meets with a handful of the leaders to decide your fate and all else. Maybe now would be the time for you to become a loose cannon again. 

Miles looks at the crying baby and wonders. What she is insinuating is nonsense. He shouts back at her.

There is more communication than you know little girl. Could it be that you were mislead by leaders to protect prospective families? Most likely.

It seems that Miles has hit a nerve with this child. Rather than continue, since there was nothing in her rant that had anything to do with the current topic(s), Miles is going to ignore her. Why listen to this bitter child anyway?  Pair myself to a baby? Miles is miles ahead of PITA. He has class while she talks out her ass.

Do you hear yourself when you speak? Or is it the crazy woman you are? Even my handful of enemies would not agree with you on any given day.  

Why was Stringer brought into Danny_Greene's crew and then murdered? 

It looks like a WS is wanted in Stringer's death.
