James Baxter - An Unrequited Love - A Kuku Story Started by: Kaboom on Mar 29, '23 03:26

It was late Tuesday night, or, what could be argued as a very very early Wednesday morning. However, in the life of crime, morning usually wasn't until the sun first peaked its rays above the horizon. That insanely cool moment, literally (the coldest part of the day is just after sunrise) and figuratively because ooh ahh sunrise.

Anyway, anyway, it was late and it was foggy and it was chilly and it was a fucking graveyard. If someone had asked Kuku where he'd find himself night after never-ending night a month ago the last thing he thought he'd be spotted was a graveyard. But here he was. With the ghosts and the squirrels and his tears.

Yes, his motherfucking tears. Stained his face every single goddamned night as he cried over his lost love. The irony of it all? He wasn't even crying over his lost love. There was nobody in the grave he stood above. It was just an empty box buried six feet under. The graverobber that looted it was most likely fucking pissed. They probably shouted toward god in rage. Pure, unadulterated rage. Saw red. Swore they'd leave the business. Came back the next day.

The grave Kuku stood above was of JamesBaxter, retired Don of Bella Vista PH. Retired just about a month ago, packed his bags, and disa-fucking-pered. A "body" aka a box was buried to keep up with the lie that the guy died in his line of work. Keep the cops from sniffing around, trying to pin him on one of his crimes. Keep them from harassing James' family.

Which was all well and good. Good for his family and friends. Kuku knew this to be true. However, not good for Kuku. How was he supposed to show his love for James? He couldn't express it in the streets. Couldn't recruit his friends to show up at James' doorstep unannounced, pester him while James was getting a coffee at his favorite place, or flirt with him at the deli counter.

Yes, folks, Kuku was a man in love and he wanted the attention he showed to James to be shown back to him. Unfortunately, it was an unrequited sort of love. For Kuku, it felt like the more he loved James the more James hated Kuku. Despised him. Tried to poison him. Probably killed a thug paid to look like Kuku.

So, why did Kuku continue to pine for a man he'd never have?

I mean, have you ever met the man? He's kind of good-looking, sure, but the brains? Big sigh. Not much going on up there. Plus, Kuku's love for James started at a very young age. When you have an obsession that deep while your brain is still forming it can turn into something much more. Something you can never shake. A habit. A bad one. Nothing could pull Kuku from his love for James.

As a child, instead of writing his arithmetics and spelling tests or whatever the fuck children do in school. Kuku wrote James's name over and over. Something like this:

James Baxter        James Baxter          James Baxter           James Baxter           James Baxter
James Baxter        James Baxter           James Baxter         James Baxter                     James Baxter                  James Baxter
James Baxter <3

Other papers were covered, absolutely smothered with:

I <3 James Baxter           I <3 James Baxter                I <3 James Baxter            I <3 James Baxter          I <3 James Baxter
I <3 James Baxter          I <3 James Baxter               I <3 James Baxter             I <3 James Baxter        I <3 James Baxter
I <3 James Baxter               I <3 James Baxter          I <3 James Baxter             I <3 James Baxter         I <3 James Baxter

And if you could believe the kid could still write even with his bloodied hands (because he was writing so damn much) some of his school books looked like:

Kuku + James Baxter   Kuku + James Baxter       Kuku + James Baxter       Kuku + James Baxter     Kuku + James Baxter
Kuku + James Baxter       Kuku + James Baxter          Kuku + James Baxter       Kuku + James Baxter        Kuku + James Baxter
Kuku + James Baxter forever and ever and ever and ever

and ever

and ever

And let's not forget his favorite one.

Mr. Kuku Baxter Mr. Kuku Baxter Mr. Kuku Baxter Mr. Kuku Baxter Mr. Kuku Baxter

Mr. Kuku Baxter Mr. Kuku Baxter Mr. Kuku Baxter Mr. Kuku Baxter Mr. Kuku Baxter

You get the point. The kid wore out a pencil like the shoes Kelly_Kapowski wears out while walking through my daydreams all damn day.

Anyway, anyway. You get the point. Kuku loves James Baxter. Forever. FOREVER. And now visits the grave of his Unrequited Love every night to cry and shit.
