Keep in mind, no one has come to ask me this questions, else I'd have been happy to answer it.   But I do assume there are plenty with this question in their head.  And the answer comes with a question I've had to ask myself.  What is my role as GFC?  At the end of the day, the answer is to keep my city alive and to make sure that it has the resources it needs.   When Polio decided to strike out on his own in DT he was given warnings that there was less protection we could offer outside the city.  When the decision to remove DT was brought forward, the leadership in NY all agreed this was the action they wanted to take.  So simply put, NY is my number 1 priority and always will be.  I'm very sad to see my dear friend gone, but he did what was best for him, and NY did what was best for it.
