A New Chapter for Sleek (Take 2 oopsies) Started by: Sleek_Tony on May 30, '23 06:50
  • Tony sighed as he puffed on his pipe absentmindedly and leaned back in his office chair while a low, melancholic jazz tune drifted out from the radio in the corner of the room. So much bloodshed these past few days, it all seemed so pointless to him. Despite being involved in the criminal underworld, Sleek saw himself as a businessman above all else. He picked up his glass of bourbon and thought to himself that murder, though a necessary part of business, should only be reserved for times when it was absolutely necessary. Nagatchi had been killed without necessity and it saddened him to think about all the wasted potential. He drained the glass, and taking up his pipe again, began blowing smoke rings in a half-hearted attempt to take his mind off such morose thoughts.

Suddenly there was a ring on the telephone. Tony was caught off guard as he scrambled to grab for the receiver and quickly collected his thoughts. "Hello, this is Sleek," He said smoothly, betraying no emotion in his voice. "Hello Godfather! I'm honored to hear your voice! Yes, Godfather, I appreciate your condolences... Yes Godfather I understand... You're sure about this? Okay, yes Godfather I'll be there soon... Thank you Godfather you won't regret this... Okay, goodbye." Sleek hung up the phone and a grin spread across his face. It had been his old boss on the line, Craven, the Godfather of Las Vegas. With so many people dead and gone there was a need for him to return to Vegas, Craven had given him the rank of Caporegime, it was time for him to reap the rewards of his hard work and start his own crew out in Summerlin. He was to meet with Craven as soon as possible to finalize the plans in person. Sleek phoned his secretary and told her to cancel all his appointments for the foreseeable future and book him on the next flight to Las Vegas. He jumped up from his chair and flipped off the radio as he began preparing his suitcase for this impromptu trip. He began humming a cheerful tune. Apparently the old saying was true, where one door closed, another was opened. It was time for a new chapter in his life
