Jimmy takes a drive. Started by: Chade on Oct 04, '11 23:37

Chade was standing at his window looking out over the grounds around his office, listening to the nervous walk of Whiskey behind him.

Come away from the window please Boss, or at least go to the one facing away from the road.

Turning slightly to smile at Whiskey Chade turns back to keep looking at the picturesque view.

It's ok Whiskey, nothing will happen. Relax.

But, just to stop that pacing your doing, ill take a seat so we can discuss some things.

Walking over to the bar, Chade pours a glass of scotch, before taking a seat on the leather couch against the wall. Motioning to Whiskey to take a seat, he turns to his ever present bodyguards and asks one for them to get Giuliano to come in for a few minutes.

Taking a sip of his drink, he apprecaites how smooth it tastes on the tip of his tongue before feeling the comfortable burn of the alcohol as he swallows it. As he takes another sip, there is a quiet knock at the door before Giuliano comes in after quietly closing the door.

Take a seat. I wanted you both here so I could discuss my plans for Los Angelas.

After hearing the place mentioned, both Whiskey and Guilano sit up a little straighter, an eager glint coming into their eyes.

I have decided it is time that the crime in that city was organised. It is a waste of profit for the thugs currently there to be running around doing what ever they want, its bad for business.

Jimmy will be moving across. He will run things over there, expand on his family to take over the city.

Both Whiskey and Giuliano smile after hearing the news.

Does he know boss? It is good news for him, but what about Vegas Sir.

Well, I am about to go over to the casino and tell him, I heard he was back in Vegas so where else would Jimmy be then at the tables.

As for Vegas. Andrew will take over position as Underboss, he will take over Jimmy's duties and I believe he will do them well. We will be staying with the 3 crews for now, I will know when it is time to expand further, but for now we will focus on growing the families we have to make Vegas as profitable as possible.

So lets take a ride and go see Jimmy. You got his keys?

Whiskey nods

Then let's get this show on the road.

Chade nodded at a few acquaitances as he made his way past the black jack tables smiling. It always brought a smile to his face to see his businesses doing well, taking care of his city sometimes cost more than most people realised. Three youngsters were guarding the back room, with the amount of money on the table in the big cash games it never hurt to have some muscle on show to deter the thugs trying to make a name for themselves with a big score. Chade stopped for a moment to say hello, despite the importance of tonight he didn't see any reason to ignore even the lowliest member of his enterprise - the old adage "be good to people on the way up, you never know when you'll meet them on the way down" was one of his guiding principles. Saying his goodbyes he stepped into the smoky room. One day, no doubt, those hack doctors would put a stop to this, but for Chade, as so many others, poker had two vital accompaniments. Bourbon and cigars.

He walked behind Jimmy and placed a hand on his shoulder.

You have a minute?

Jimmy slid the dealer a few chips, nodded at his fellow players and stood. Business first. Always. They understood.

What's up boss?

Walk with me, Jimmy. I have something I need you to do. Nature abhors a vacuum, Jimmy, and Los Angeles has been one for far too long. How would you feel about heading out there and running the city? I've seen how you've run your family here, and honestly, I can't think of a better person for the job. You know how this business works as well as anyone I've ever seen, and I have every faith that you could make it work. It's only 300 miles from here to LA, and I'd rather there were someone there who understands La Cosa Nostra than some upstart punk, or these Russians I keep hearing about.

Jimmy was rarely lost for words, but his jaw actually dropped, his eyes flicking from Chade to Whiskey and back again.

I... well... I'd... what I mean is... Christ boss. I'd be honoured. Truly.

Chade nodded to Whiskey who handed him a small bunch of keys.

The two brass ones will open the doors on a little place I've bought for you in Hollywood to get you set up, and the other is for this.

He stepped aside to reveal a beautiful Jaguar SS100 sports car.

It's a long drive to LA, Jimmy. I thought you should arrive in style.

Although word wasn't spreading very fast, Alfonce had a way of keeping his ears on the streets... "LA?" "Is that right?" "Jimmy Napoli eh?" "Good, Thats very good news!" "Here kid, now run along and dont spend that all in one place!"

The kid had rushed passed the guards so fast that he could'a got off a clean shot had he been a buttonman from another crew. Or even some punk stick up artist. Thats how news travled in La Costra Nostra. It was always on the slide. Afifty here, a hundred there and you could find out virtually anything.

"I'd better don some fresh duds and head out to congradulate the LV underboss." Alfonce told his guards Tony and Sal who were stuffing thier cheecks with meatball sandwiches instead of doin their jobs...

Monet takes a long drag on his cigarette, and smoke pours out of his nose before he speaks.

Congrats Jimmy. I hope that you and LA are prosperous and finally bring some life to the city.

Nice car by the way, I'd watch where you park it.

He smiles and hobbles off.

Jimmy, I don’t even know where to start.  My bloodline has been with you since day 1.  I remember my father telling me stories about my grandfather, who was fresh off the boat and didn’t make it very far.  He joined your father, in Las Vegas, I vaguely remember the name…I think it was TonyCorelli?  It was unfortunate that not soon after he joined you, war broke out between Vegas and the 7 cities.  But it was there our two bloodlines met, me dodging a couple bullets for you before you finally decided to honorably retire.  Then to continue my grandfather’s life, my father, Kriminal Sr, eventually ended up with you and worked extremely closely with you for a long time.  But this is the mafia, and our world is anything but perfect.  He was involved in some shady businesses, and eventually felt guilty and came to you with them and was of course, fairly punished.  But here I am sir, three generations down, still standing by you.  I can say that my bloodline has never regretted following your leadership.  You have been a great friend and mentor to me.  You have worked extremely hard for this opportunity, and there is no one better to take on the responsibility of a new city.  I sincerely congratulate you, and wish you the best.

Giuliano wondered out onto the streets, making a rare appearence cigar in mouth he starts to speak realising he is mumbling. He takes the cigar out and hands it to his bodyguard and tries again.

Don Napoli, first of all congratulations on becoming the head L.A. I'm sure you are going to excel in that position. You have shown while in Vegas to be a hardworking and strong leader and I know you will continue that and implement your beliefs on L.A.

While your there give the Law Enforcers hell as its about time the Mafia control our 8 cities.

All that is left for me to say is Salut Sir.

Giuliano holds his hand out for his cigar and places it back in his mouth taking a long deep breath before blowing out a cloud of smoke which he disappears behind.

She sits back and smiles, allowing others to pat Jimmy'a back and when the crowd lessens she approaches the gentleman.

Jimmy, sir... I am very proud to see you taking this step. It makes me so happy to see Los Angeles in the hands of someone as respectable and capable as yourself. I'd pat your back, but you're looking a little beat up after everyone else having a go so I shall just shake your hand.

She takes Jimmy's hand in hers pressing a small package with a cookie in it into his palm.

One for the road and all. Congratulations kiddo.

She winks and wanders off to pester Chade some more.
