| Mental Health - You're not alone in this. | Started by: Fenton on Jul 06, '23 10:03 |

Hey there, I'm William. I am 33 and I've been dealing with anxiety and depression for more than half of my life. I want to reach out to anyone who's feeling down or feels like they have no one to talk to. Sometimes we just need a 'Day Off' Days off are for relaxing & resting, and they free up time for processing, be it our thoughts, memories, dreams or just what you've done the previous week. For me these past few years or so have been about dealing with a plethora of things to varying degrees of success/failure, alas life goes on. But it shouldn't be a ballache day in and day out, so here's ten things for your consideration, if you effectively care less about these things I'm sure you'll feel happier in no time.
This isn't a cry for help, but rather an invitation. My door is always open and I'm here to lend an ear. I know what it's like to feel alone, and I want you to know that you're not. So, if you need someone to talk to, don't hesitate to reach out. I'm here for you. This is a game and a lot of people play this mobster persona when in reality we are all just humans traversing this cesspit we call life. I'm by no means a professional or guru on the matter, merely lived it a long time so there is some shit I can deal with. All my respect, William p.s your thoughts and feelings do matter regardless of age, religion, sex, race, whathaveya - we are all humans. |

This is nice and all. But not for me. I learned too easily and too often most people around here would rather push your buttons than to help you. |

RainaBelikov, you're such a fucking hypocrite. Let me explain why, for everyone to understand and lets rewind our "little beef", shall we?
I didnt even knew you, and you didn't even knew me and we have never EVER SPOKEN before. I always had my bickerings with Kuku and you went there in his posts for 2 times straight to say shit to me. FIRST TIME WAS ON THIS POST: https://mafiareturns.com/comm/thread/1864705#30290299 you already picked at me there 1 time and i kept quiet, i even TIPPED YOU 20K FOR ANOTHER POST YOU DID WHICH I AGREED ON (i dont remember what it was) the SECOND TIME, YOU CAME AT ME HERE: https://mafiareturns.com/comm/thread/1865634#302201440 And i was like, dude? Wtf is wrong with this chick. She doesnt have anything to do with my beef with Kuku, she doesnt even know what happened and what he did, and here she is AGAIN picking at me. After i got annoyed and told you to FUCK OFF there, what did you DO? You exposed my 20k tip on your PROFILE saying "thank you for your generous tip", like a fucking 12 year old child. Trying to humiliate me or something. Like dude???? So yeah, i will come at you now EVERY FUCKING TIME and expose your hipocrisy and your contradictions because its fucking funny to me that you put yourself so HIGH and ABOVE everyone, when fact is that you're simply (to not call you something else) an awful person. SO when you say that "people rather push your buttons than help you", FIRST TRY TO BE A NICER PERSON, specially to people you dont even know. And again, as i usually say to you, grow the fuck up.
ALSO, Fenton, this is a great post and a great way of showing people they can have the support they need. Nice one, my man. |

Now you're making me feel bad about taggin you on the people who suck thread
jk
Everyone has their way to deal. I like to shut myself from others. I've tried seeking help but it just makes it worse
the worst thing though is when I click on the hustle and it's saying "Post a well thought out original reply in an Outside thread of appropriate length." That's hard. |

I know people have their way of dealing with mental health. Now I have Depression and have had for the past eight years due to things only a few people know. One person stuck by me through it all. For me to deal with it on the bad days I stand and bake or do something that keeps mind occupied. Since I started.to work in a busy hospitality and catering at a top hotel where I live. I have coped well but still have days where I want to shut off from everyone. |

Anxiety is harsh, as a guy anyway. I suffer it quiet a bit and it can really hold me back, like i want to make a couple real life friends to hang out with, but getting to that point is not easy. I have had 1 special long term friend that i only met because i have moved towns and this guys mum came over and gave me some school clothes to help us and i was forced by my mum to go over and say thank you. Im thankful that happened as we are still bloody close friends after 25 or so years now, and I have 1 other friend who i used to work with. Thats it. i would like to meet more people but wouldnt know how to go about it nor what to say etc and just thinking about it makes me want to hide now. Then theres things that someone said that spins in my head "What he meant about that?" Was he joking or is he serious?" "What do i say next time?" i then find myself in an ever deepening dark hole Trouble is the wife expects me to do the things she doesnt like doing i.e. getting electricians round to give quotes or arrange home delivery for when im there so i can deal with it. This means me getting out of my confort zone to get these thing done and this scares me. She says "oh your confident enough whats the problem?" Im not I just pretend to be to get it over with asap you know? Have i babbled on a bit? |

I love this post Fenton. We are all in this together at the end of the day and if more people would come around to that way of thinking, then a better world we would all live in. A problem shared is a problem halved and all that. |

I've always joked that I was perfectly fine when I was born and then I met my parents and that's when my anxiety and depression started. Theres a lot of good resources online, hell even books. Sometimes just understanding why your brain works the way that it does helps make things easier. But never self diagnose, but do get help if its needed. |

Quick question... what do normal people's brains do all day, if not mental self-flagellation? |

Thanks for reaching out Fenton.
i, also, am not a pro on the matter. But - I do work in an environment that is a breeding ground for mental health issues. We are well trained, and have plenty of resources to manage ourselves. All that said - the peers that are around us are almost always the best support. so - this? I approve.
cheers. |

Post cries for help on twitter but then hide it as a joke that makes them laugh enough that they are ok for another day? No? Just me? Fuck. |

Mental health mmmm.....I do know that I am tired of filling this out for a hustle point or two. It is not good on my mental health to continue this. |

| I allow my employees to have at will no explanation mental health days off. We need to collectively start valuing mental health the same as physical. | |

| Just saw this and what a great post. Especially in covid, burnout was real. Now post covid the same pace with a lot from work is expected for teleconferencing but now there is travel and back to office. Its exhausting. MR is an outlet and good people on here can be found to talk to | |

Valued post William, This is a game and one we choose to play with a theme that isn't such rainbows and sunshine. But at the end of the day I agree. We are all human and outside the game my inbox is always open to anyone also. Past problems and issues with anyone I'm always willing to listen regardless, if its beyond the game. I've personally used this game and others to escape, have social interactions that I didnt want at the time on outside. So i get it. Ive personally have had several friends, acquaintances, and people Ive known of... either exspress their depression/loneliness or whatever and to an even worst situation committed harm, self harm, or suicide. Many of these people from an outsife observation and knowing you would of never even thought... So like wise my door is always open just to conversate. |

I cannot speak with authority on this subject, but sometimes I like to be alone, away from people and talk to God, I like to play my guitar and I like to believe that God hears me and keeps me company.
This is my way of dealing with the bad things that surround us in this crazy and fast-paced life we live in, I like to believe that there is someone greater who is in control of things.
If anyone shares the same opinion please let me know.
Peace. |
