The Return to the Streets Started by: Siege on Jul 12, '23 22:08

Siege walks off of a plane, arriving at The Strip in Las Vegas. He strolls outside to the streets of the city, looking around and breathing in the air. He had heard many stories of this city during his childhood about the mafia. His uncle would come in from the city and visit them often, and Siege would always beg him for a story about his life in the mafia. Eventually his Uncle would reluctantly would indulge his young mind with gunfights, drug deals, murder, extortion, and much more. His Uncle was murdered one day, and it shook Siege to the core. He came to the city to walk in the shoes of his Uncle, he wanted to see what the Mafia had to offer.

Siege would tap a cigarette from his pack, lighting it with ease and exhaling as he began to walk to streets as he thought about the stories he was told, looking for somewhere to start in this life. Thankfully he at least had some money to hold him over until he found some work, he thought to himself while he walked into a local diner. Siege sat down at a booth and looked over the menu while he smoked. The waitress would walk over and he ordered some coffee with bacon and eggs.

"I need to find a contact here within the city... I'm sure one of the crews out here is looking for someone to do some work for them."

He said to himself while waiting on his food. The waitress came by and dropped off his coffee before scurrying off to the kitchen. He took a sip of the coffee while looking around the diner, examining the faces inside. Before long his hot food was placed in front of him at the booth and the waitress smiled down to him asking him, "Did you need anything else, Sir?"

He waved her off and replied, "No, no this is great, thank you." Looking down at his food he picked up his utensils and began to eat his bacon and eggs. As he finished his meal and coffee he relaxed back into the booth and lit another cigarette. "Well, lets see where this journey takes me at least." He said to himself, chuckling lightly.

After leaving the diner Siege continued to walk the streets of the unfamiliar city looking for work. He found his way into the nastier part of town, thinking to himself it probably wasn't good that he wasn't packing at the moment. "Shit, oh well.." he says to himself, and walked deeper into the slums. He chatted with a man leaning against the wall, and was told where he could possibly find some work. He thanked the stranger and asked for directions before heading out.

Siege walked up to a run down apartment complex and went inside. He walked up the stairs until he found the apartment number that the stranger had told him. He knocked firmly against the door and awaited a answer. The sound of dogs barking and voices came from beyond the door. For a moment it was silent then the sound of several locks unclicking and a chain being unhooked could be heard before the doorknob turned and a man opened the door just enough to peep out through the crack. "Who the hell are you? What do you want?" He barked out from behind the door.

Nodded to the man and said, "Someone sent me this way saying you may have some work to be done, I was just here to see if you did in fact have any work." The man behind the door was silent, but eyed Siege up and down and laughed before opening the door up enough for him to walk inside. "What kind of work are you looking for pal?" The man asked Siege while closing the door. Siege looked around the apartment as he listened to the man and responded, "Anything you have, I'm new to the city and looking to make some money."

The man nodded his head slowly and chuckled. He motioned for Siege to stay where he was and walked around the corner and returned several moments later with a box in his hands. "You're in luck, really. I was just about to go and take care of this myself, but since you showed up... You can take care of it." He shoved the box into Siege's hands along with a piece of paper. "Get that delivered to the man at the address on that paper, then come back and pick up your payment." He opened the door and practically shoved Siege outside before the door slammed behind him.

Siege looked down at the box in his hands and then to the paper, reading the address. He shrugged and began walking with the box, intending to deliver the box.

Siege finally reached the location of the address after quite a bit of walking and direction asking. He looked down at the paper, then at the numbers on the building to cross-reference and double check before he made his way up the stairs. He knocked against the door of the building and stood there, box in hand. The door flew open several moment later, a man standing in the doorway peering at Siege and then the box in his hands. "Who are you? I was expecting someone else." He tells Siege. The man looks around outside and scans the surroundings before returning his attention to Siege.

"I'm Siege, I was told to give this to you." Siege extends the box in his hands to the man in front of him, releasing his hold as the man takes the package. The man looks over the box and nods to him before saying, "Ah! Exactly what I've been waiting for!" The man chuckled for a moment and then thanked Siege for the box and handed him a few bills before returning inside and shutting the door.

Siege made his way back to the apartment building and knocked on the door of his employer for this job and heard the familiar sounds of locks being undone and watched as the door creaked open slowly and the eye peering at him. The door quickly flung open and the man led him inside before closing the door and securing the locks again. His attention turned to Siege and he grinned before telling him, "Well done. I received a call when you completed the job." The man dug into his pockets for a moment before pulling out a large wad of cash and stuffing it into Siege's hand. "I always have plenty of work around here, so stop by anytime you're looking to get paid, yahear?" he tells Siege with a smirk.

Throughout the next few days, Siege and the man became well acquainted while he continued to do jobs for him. During this time the man told him that he worked for several crews and that most of the jobs came through them. Before long, some of the crews came to Siege directly asking if he needed permanent work. This was the reason he came to the city wasn't it? He realized soon he was going to have to choose a crew to run with... With that realization he began learning more about the crews of the cities so he could make a better decision for what he wanted. This was it, once he made his choice his family would be returning to the street life after a long time of laying low.
