I was bundled into the back of the van, my shoulder throbbing, as my hands were bound at a painfully awkward angle. There was something digging into my kidneys, and I tried twisting round to look, but I grunted I pain at the pain shooting through my shoulder. We arrived at our destination - possibly my final- and they opened the boot and threw me to the ground. They dragged me into a decaying 2-storey building, opened the front door and lent me on the stairs as they went through to the other room. I had a closer look at my surroundings, taking in the chipped paint, the molding skirting boards, the smell of death. They came back holding some heavy-looking, clanking manacles, and a blunt, rusting saw. I took one more look up the staircase... would this be my stairway to heaven? Or, - more likely - hell? (OOC)sorry for the length, this is my first time at this sort of thing.... I hope you enjoy it! |

Eleanor looked around, having seen a fellow family member thrown into the car. She pulled out behind the sleek vehicle and followed at a great distance, and when they stopped, she stopped as well, watching the action ahead of her. What the hell were they doing with Divine? She thought about calling the boss, but what if it was something minor, or worse, something that had been ordered? Shit...what the hell am I supposed to do? Who are these guys and what are they doing with Div? She pounded her fists on the steering wheel in frustration, then looked around. She hadn't watched where she was going, her entire focus being on the car ahead of her. Now she noticed a few familiar buildings, then smiled when she saw the street sign. She was watching from the quiet corner of 5th and Madiera, not too bad a part of town but still someplace where the old warehouses were more prevalent than places occupied by the upstanding citizenry of the town. She grinned broader and let the list of her local contacts run through her mind, then backed the car up slowly and turned down another side street, pulling up behind a 3 story ramshackle tower of ugly recycled bricks. A handpainted sign over a rolling garage door proclaimed "Chichi's Shop! No Trespassing!" She parked in front of the door and got out, walking to the door to the left. Chee, man open up it's Elle... |

I screamed incomprehensible curses, and thrashed about as I was dragged up the stairs by my hair, but stopped suddenly as I heard some sort of activity outside. But then we were through the door, into a sound-proofed room, with crusted blood round the skirting boards, and an annoying leak in the ceiling, which they left me under as they tramped back down stairs. It was quite large, but already I was looking around for objects, or information that could aid my escape. I look over to the left wall, and see a bent, blackened nail. Not much, but anything helps if you're in as deep faces as this. I crawled pitifully slowly over to it, picked it up and slipped it into my pocket. The two men, one bulky and the other wiry, came back up the stairs, the bigger one holding an "improvised" baseball bat. He walked calmly over too me, and smashed one of my kneecaps in one blow, and I screamed in agony as the bone shattered, and I grabbed hold of his foot. He shook me off as is I was a rat, and kicked me so hard, I found myself flying against the wall. "What do you want with me?" I screamed. "Well, that 'punk' you stabbed in that Alleyway just happened to be my godson...." "Oh fuck..." I whimpered. "And now, to business." The wiry one ordered. "Yes boss..." He drove a knife into the thigh of my crippled leg, and I shook with half pain, and half fear. This was going to be a long night... |

Elle stepped in as Chee locked the door behind her. He squinted down at her, his face momentarily hidden by the smoke from the ever-present cigar clamped between his fleshy lips. Whachoo wan', Elle? I don' see you here ver' often. His voice was the typical pidgin English of the immigrants, both legal and illegal, she typically dealt with. Her voice was low and urgent. Chee, who owns that building over there. What do you know about it? |

Chee snorted, chuckling Oh tha's old Mistah Moskatel's warehouse...he died last year; his widow own it but she don' use it for nuthin'. Why you need it? I could get her to loan it to ya if you wa... Elle cut him off abruptly. Chee, one of my family is in there...you know Div? Well, they dragged Div in there and now, I don't know what's goin' on. They were not family, man...you got a piece and a couple guys I could borrow for a bit? I think those chumps need a lesson in manners...mainly not to mess with Deviant's family in his own town, ya got me? Chee nodded slowly, then called out to the back, the cigar still stuck to the corner of his moouth like a permanent fixture. Hey Jose, get Don up and c'mere.. Miss Elle needs you guys to help her bust some cojones. Eleanor smiled gratefully and clapped Chee on the back. I won't get your boys hurt, Chee my friend...you need anything from me? When he shook his head, she nodded again. Tell Marta and the kids I said hello, yeah? I'll bring these strapping lads right back. She walked with the two young men and stalked over to the warehouse, where she could hear faintly muffled groans, shouts, and thumps. |

I heard the door downstairs crash open, and felt a glimmer of hope that was crushed (quite literally) from the blow of a hammer to the stomach, and I threw up my spag-bol all over the floor, and started retching on it, so I curled up into the fetal position, and just waited for it to stop. I heard 3 pairs of feet running up the stairs, and I was anxious to find out who it was... Relief flooded through me as I saw Eleanor_rigby and 2 burly men, all packin' heat charge into the room, and my hand clenched on the nail. |
