After taking some time to get familiar with life in America I became content with my new role in life, being a mobster. The men that had purchased my freedom had begin to teach me a thing or two about survival in the big apple. It was rough for the common folk during these times, being a talking giraffe didn't make it any easier on me. Started off learning how to pickpockets of civilians to robbing the 7-11's and corner stores. I couldn't get the hang of things until one day in a laundromat I met a man that changed my life. He proclaimed to be a Cowboy from "outer space". Whatever that meant mixed in with some small talk and liquor made quite the friendship right away. He talked about moving west, that "His time was coming up in New York and things were changing." He could tell from the blood stains on the suits I was trying to wash that I was in a line of work that he was familiar with too. "I'm not sure what they're paying you Giraffe, but there is more opportunity out west then anyone knows what to do with. Think of it as a gold rush!", he explained. It wasn't hard to believe the man wearing the astronaut helmet as I was packing my bags and giving notice to anyone that cared I was heading with the cowboy west. I was still fairly new to the New York crime scene so they went ahead and sent me on my way as I was "standing out" a little too much and not making as much money as I should of been. After a long cross country flight we found ourselves in the Pasadena airport. SpaceCowboy glanced at the letters he was holding reading them for a moment then looking back up at the airport sign again before shrugging and moving on outside. The air wasn't any cleaner and the people dressed a lot more awkwardly then they would back on the east side so I felt like I would fit in a lot easier in my new home. Things kept moving and business had picked up for The SpaceOutlaws, the family began to become profitable and established. New associates we walking into the headquarters daily with drugs and or their profits making sure to pay their dues. @SpaceCowboy and I continued to grow as he had me working alongside his second in command @Char_Aznable more often then not. @ClassyLady was passing on most of her duties to me at this point so the boss had elected to me third in command. It was an honor to hold the title and my shot at showing I was capable of helping out in a bigger way. Then just this morning the boss had a letter waiting for me in my office at the headquarters when I arrived. It had been a long busy night for the boss and I had only just gotten in from a long flight out of Chicago. After I read the letter I walked up the stairs to where the SpaceCowboys personal quarters were. I wasn't requested personally on many occasions, but it was odd to meet in his quarters when we all usually met in a more open setting. Once I made it upstairs I could see @JohnnySilverhand sitting in front of the double doors obviously waiting for me. He caught me climbing the stairs and stood from his seat and opened the door for me welcoming me in. As he followed in behind me there were some familiar faces already in the room waiting. I noticed the usual suspects Char_Aznable and ClassyLady, but there were more. @Gin and his brother @JewishJake were there along with my close friend and confidant @TM-Scarface. Before I had much more of a chance to look around SpaceCowboy threw a set of keys at me. Catching them with my teeth I caught wind of what was happening. "Giraffe today is the day, we don't feel like picking up after you anymore. Your too messy! I have assigned my best people to take care of you and I have personally purchased you your own Animal House. You gotta go, you stink too!", he said in a joking voice. Everyone laughed, and after giving myself a quick smell I laughed too. I stunk it was time to go check out the Animal House! |

Gin as usual lined up the glassware and poured out shots for the room, after passing drinks around the room the not so sober man speaks A toast is in order here. Giraffe I remember vividly the day we met. Me lying still wasted from the night before waking up to your long necked ass eating leaves from the tree above telling me to do more with myself. Of course I assumed it was just me tripping again but sure enough no a giraffe was speaking to me. From that day forward I knew you were a special giraffe and you sir deserve every bit of this. Congratulation's my friend! Everyone raises their glasses in honor of the occasion Alright let's get to drinki.......Work, I meant to say work. |
