The Outside forum is a place where people can post anything... and should be able to post anything. One man's crap thread is another man's entertainment, right?

But when did we lose the ability to originate a thought? With a few notable and very good/entertaining exceptions, the Outside forum has become a cesspool of copied & pasted (and uncited) work of others (and in at least one case on the front page, a double post of the same content by two different people), your favorite __________, xbox vs ps3, and other stuff that has been chewed on, swallowed, shat out, and reposted again and again.

Forget about the streets dying. When the one forum where you can say anything and garner true, out of character, non game related conversation and debate has resorted to the regurgitated drivel, how can we have hope for the truly independent and creative forums where thought is a requirement, not a luxury?

Call me a bitch, and argue that the Outside forum is supposed to be for whatever people want to post with minimal standards, and I'll agree with you.

But shouldn't even the minimum of standards still be above where it is now?

So, my proposal:

For every original, non copy-pasted, thoughtful discussion/debate/commentary... WHATEVER... posted in the Outside forum that catches my eye and interests me from this point on, I'll award monetary compensation for your time.

I didn't even notice this before I posted the thread you rewarded me for Alex, but I applaud you trying to bring interest back to the outside. You're right, people should walk before they run, IE fix the outside before the streets. Only seems logical to me.
