What Now? | Started by: McKnighter on Oct 14, '11 16:29 |
McKnighter lets out a rather deep sigh, his skin growing cold and pale as the Chicago weather begins to take its toll on the man. He tucks his hat over his eyes, flipping up his collar to help shield him from the wind, rubbing his hands together for warmth. He stands in front of a local coffee shop, having already enjoyed his morning fix. The caffeine from the brown liquid that rested in his stomach provided some heat, but it was never enough. Casting his gaze around as he heaves himself up onto a soap-box, the man reaches out to any that would hear him with his questioning. |

Alchemy ealks over to McKnighter and slowly opens his jacket and reaches in, at that moment he notices a few people around suddenly get on edge about whats about to happen next... He pulls out of his pocket a gold inlayed flask and untwists the lid and hands it to his friend McKnighter. "Here you go pal you will need something abit stronger than that coffee to warm you with the winter chill on the way"
My friend your words are ones that are I think are on the lips of many of late but you have spoke them and I commend you on that. Time and time again at times of prosperity and wealth and success the question aprears of what now? What I have learnt over my bloodline is that there are many types of men and woman who walk our streets, the kinds that like to speak the kinds that don't, the kinds that like to kill the kinds that don't, the kinds that like to steal from pockets the kinds that don't. I could go on and on but really the point that I am trying to make is there will always be someone who wants things differnt from how they are now.
I personaly am enjoying this time of growth and and success and unity between the cities. Its been to long since I have had the chance to visit all of the cities casinos, bars and banks so freely without being on edge. I how ever am not nieve and know it wont last for ever as nothing ever does. I say why ponder and question whats next and why not turn that energy into making the most of each day and enjoying the success that has been built from the time of peace.
What are my plans? I intend on finishing the rest of this drink, treating my loyal guards to a night at Chicagos casino, followed by a trip to the cities local bar establishments to thank them for there hard work on a daily basis.
How ever, theres a key point you made which I think is a perfect thing to be said.. Never get complacent and slack off, your words we're prove yourself wrong. I like that its a nice sentiment to achieve more. We can all wonder what next, or we can be the next thing in some way or another. Success and hard work does get rewarded with respect and power, some of the most powerful people I have known around here over the years wern't even crewleaders. A bold suite is not the be all and end all that some people think it is.
So i'll echo what you said, do you think this is it and there can't be anymore greatness and success... Prove yourself wrong! |
