As the dust settles. Started by: Kimble on Oct 24, '11 03:29

The smell of smoke still clung to the air as Kimble made his way out of the Drake Hotel in Chicago.  He walked to the curb and got into the black Lincoln with Godfathers Chade, SuperX, and SexyBeast and promptly sped off to the airport.  Godfathers Cassi, Jade, and Alabama followed in an identical car behind them.  They had all agreed to meet in Chicago shortly after the final shots of the war had been fired.   The first Godfathers Meeting had just ended and they were all on their way back to their respective cities as new men and women.  With the last few days being sleepless ones, all of them were in desperate need of sleep and security.  With the first of these landmark meetings complete, peace was the topic on everyone’s mind.   Kimble sipped his whiskey on the rocks as they made their way to O’Hare, thinking about what had just been discussed and decided.  Over all, the meeting was successful.  Everyone had come with fair positions and clear minds on what direction they wanted the world to go.  As they all piled out of the Lincolns with their assorted staff, they shook hands in new found friendship and went their separate ways to their gates and boarded their planes.

Landing in New Orleans, Kimble quickly made his way through the city to where he was supposed to speak.  Collecting his thoughts on the ride and reading over his notes, he felt confident in the future for the first time in a long while.  Renewed vigor had seems to have gripped all 8 cities, including himself.  It was with a spring in his step that he made his way to the front of his HQ where a crowd had already gathered.  He took one last drag of his Lucky Strike before he began to speak.

Where do I begin?  As you all have seen our world is very different now.  The old guard has left, and the new are stepping in.  I am not here to discuses my position in the war, or defend why I did what I did.  The past will lie in the past.  With the fall of Godfathers Roman and –Premeir (RIP) there comes new challenges that we all must face.  For as long as many can remember, Roman had stood vigilant over the world keeping everything in order, and crushing those that tried to oppose.  We had all been reliant on him to solve most problems.  But now Romans impressive era is over, and we must more forward.  Shortly after the war, I contacted all the Godfathers and organized a meeting where we could all meet as equals to discuses the current situation and how we want to proceed.  The meeting was a complete success and everyone got they’re chance to speak their mind in an effort to exhaust all confusion and come up with compromises.  Here it what was discussed and decided.

  • The first point brought up were the bans that had been in place during the previous era.  It was promptly decided that all bans were to be lifted effective immediately in all cities.
  • The next matter discussed was the matter of those Crew Leaders that were under Godfather JimmyNapoli (RIP).  It was decided between Chade and Jade that Vincent_Toscani would move back to Las Vegas, and Flowah would remain in Los Angeles under Godfather Jade.
  • Next was the matter of Cadoras and Stallion.  They both moved their families to New Orleans during the war.  It was decided that Don Cadoras will remain with me in New Orleans and be changing his family name to The Bourbon Street Brawlers, and Stallion will be moving back to New York to take up the position of Godfather.
  • Also discussed was disrespect in funerals.  It was decided that any form of disrespect will not be tolerated in any way, shape, or form.  The Funeral Home is a place to say goodbye to our fallen friends and foes.  Death is the great equalizer and there is no need to berate dead corpses.
  • Next up was the topic of having these meeting on a more regular basis.  Everyone agreed that the 8 of us and our representatives would try to meet every 2 weeks.  If there is anything grand decided in these meetings they will be put in the streets to inform the community.  The meetings will be organized in a rotation fashion, with Philly organizing the next.
  • Last to be discussed was the state of the streets.  In the old era there seemed to be a sense of fear in speaking in the streets.  We hope that this is no longer the feeling felt.  If you feel like disagreeing with me in the streets you go right ahead.  I won’t hate you; I won’t shoot you as long as you do it respectfully.  Blatant name calling will not be tolerated, but either will oppression.  I invite you all you speak your mind in these streets once more.

With that all said, I invite you all to express your opinions here and now if you feel like it.  Rejoice in the ability my friends.

Kimble gets off his the soapbox he was standing and makes his way into the crowd to converse with the various Mafioso.

Watching the deaths of recent eras and the childish level some drop to have made to the streets a veritable hell hole which my father often avoided.  He would show his face, but watch what he said as knew how much could be twisted.  I welcome these moves especially in regard to funerals as find it dispacable the attitudes of some at a funeral.  I hope this creates a level of rejuvenation to the streets and business district which have suffered sorely.

doogle lowered his gun as he heard Kimble began to speak in the street. The bodyguard he had in his sights ran out of the alley and into the public...doogle would have to find him again later. As he approached Kimble speaking, a wide grin spread across his face.

A long and hard-fought battle indeed. As mentioned by many other mafioso in other speeches, the world's discontent with the oppresive rule has brought about spectacular change. I am proud to stand here and witness the recreation of this world working under some of the most personal high ranking Mobsters ever known. I applaud the effort being shown by all city leaders in changing the MR landscape, and look forward to all that will happen under each of you.

Congrats to the Victors, RIP to the Fallen, and Salud to the future.

Katana listens to her Godfather and smiles at the words and upon hearing the meeting.

I must say that it is very nice to see that the crew leaders are working to together once again rebuild the streets, and the help those gain confidence again in speaking. I am very much excited about the changes that I am witnessing and have a renewed sense of growth in the right direction.

She lights a smoke as she thinks of all the great things that will soon be happening in all the cities including the one that she resides in.

Applauding to the news Porosity gace great gestures.

Remarkable, as I know much of a burden we've overcome, this world is still in shambles. Picking up the peices will take time, but every day seems to be a stride in right direction, with the way our cities are functioning together.

Well played Stallion, you will do New York a fine job.
Many friends and family had it in thier hearts that the city would come to be yours, as you have shown all your peers
that it's the way it's truly ment to be.

with a large smile, Porosity gave Stallion a huge
Pat on his back. He then turned back to the crowd where both Vincent and Flowah stood.

My Bothers and Sisters, to a prosperous life I wish you lead.

Porosity snaged a bottle of champagne, off the near by catered table.
Giving a quick shake he popped the cork soring it high into the air, misting the entire corwd in a wet frenzy of drink.

I like this new world very much.  I would have gladly died to make it possible, but I'm glad I'm alive to enjoy it.  I know that times have really changed.  Because I look to my cousins and brothers and other relatives, killed for working for Axes and McTavishes they never even met.  Killed on false suspicions, or even for an off color joke.  But never making a difference.  Then this weekend, I wasn't gunned down because my boss didn't tell me about a war.  I wasn't killed for making a handjob joke.  I was treated as an equal and we were all contributing to something important and that we believed in.  No relative of mine ever felt so involved.  Many might be cynical about this, but I truly believe these can be the best of times for us thieves and murderers.

And what a world of difference between the sitdowns a couple weeks ago about blacklistings and terrorism...to the sitdowns today.  Today looks like people interested in doing business.  Leaders aware that keeping people happy is better for business than making them miserable.  Before I came to this country we had to teach the Romanovs a similar lesson.  And then, like now, I wonder if they learn those lessons during their final breath.

Mikey overhearing the people on the streets applauding, roaring even, caught his attention like a bug to a flame. He walked over to hear Godfather Kimble give his speech about the new changes recently decided by all the city heads. It was clear that for the first time in a long time it seemed, that the city heads were working together to achieve a common goal, unity amongst the cities.

These past few days have been long and hard ones, that's what she said...

Coughs.

Sorry excuse me... Yes so these days. A handjob joke got you killed back in the day? Shame. Those are my favorite. Anyways!

I already feel like the streets and the overall environment has changed. The streets are now more open to opinions and ideas alike without the fear of being judged. I for one am not the greatest public speaker, nor do I agree with everyone else. But the fear of now being able to stand up to voice my opinion without harsh consequences, livid.

I'm just proud that business has now continued in a sense, even though theres a few speed bumps here and there.

" I agree the lack of respect showen by some people during this has sicken me, Freind or foe these people fought for there respected familys and paid the ultimate price and should be respected, I have no problem if someone wants to speak there mind on the street as long as its respectfull Thank you Godfather Kimble"

Monet had a long history with New Orleans and considering them some of his very good and close friends. He listened to Kimble's speech while smoking a cigarette and leaning on his cane. He nodded, pleased to be hearing such an abundance of peaceful and group-positive things.

The old man was pleased with how things had gone and the negotiations that had taken place. Although he would mourn the loss of his friends and would respect the death of those great godfathers, he was happy with the new city heads decisions and was curious to see how things would continue from now on. He blew a smoke ring.

Kimble, I have known you for as long as I have been around and I am glad to see you spear-heading such changes. I hope that these things come into fruitition and are enforced. Don't let us down.

Alabama survived? The boys in the brothel were right about her being faster than a speeding bullet.

On a serious note, thank you for the information, Godfather Kimble. It’s good to see business taken care of and questions answered.

I am very pleased to have leaders meeting and working things through without threats or fear. I hope this will be a turning point for these streets.

It is nice to see the changes we were all hoping for are taking place. It would appear from the meeting that the Godfather's genuinely want to bring our world forward and it will be interesting to see them working together to do so.

Kudos to all and everyone.

Thor takes a deep breath. The air seemed so much more fresh than it used to. He smiles and heads back to the HQ for a drink.

Clarity came forth from the HQ as she heard Kimble speaking. She had been a bit busy busting some friends out of jail and had just got back when he began. She listened to what he said and to others around her as they showed their reactions or spoke a few words. Typically when a leader came to the streets before after a war there would be some negative feedback from the kin of those who died, but so far she saw nothing of it. There seemed to be only smiles and hopeful faces.

Things seemed to already have changed without people really noticing it. Granted you would have to look at the long run to see if things would stay this way, but she couldn't tell the future. She just enjoyed how many of these people looked at it with hope. For those around her, doors were opening and dreams were starting to show up on everyone's doorstep. Her mother was always a dreamer and a hard worker no matter what the situation was. Even in the darkest of times she would see the light and begin to work at making it shine brighter.

Yet, for those here now their light was starting to shine again. For many of them it felt like it was estinguished. Clarity couldn't help getting a little bit excited over this. Many of her own friends felt like they could be the person they set out to be. She was happy to be here and see all this.

"I am quite happy to see that all the cities are working together. Not out of fear of dying, but out of wanting to better themselves and their city. The leaders seem to be caring more about what their members want rather than just what they want. I hope this stays this way. I hope that the members of our world will help the leaders work at this new beginning."

Clarity gave Kimble, her leader, a bright smile as she finished what she was saying.

"We all know there will be days that things do not seem so bright. We all know that there may be a sour soul that puts a dent in this new beginning. It happens. I just hope we all work together to push onward, to keep this new found freedom alive and well. Thank you all and for those who have fallen, may their souls rest in peace."

I like what has been said so far, as was mentioned above though, only time will tell. We have been subject to one of the worst forms of tyranny our cities have ever seen. Its nice to see things finally turning in the right direction again.

On the subject of funerals. We have seen recently some top hands in chicago gunned down in cold blood for speaking in a rogue funeral, even thought this so called 'rogue' was only trying to act and do what others had succeeded in doing over the weekend. Although, this rogue in question had come from Chicago and had many friends there, any of his friends who attended his funeral were quickly shot down in cold blood, and afterwards anybody who protested against this brutality met the same fate.

Are we likely to see this kind of behaviour still? Or is it ok to attend the funeral of a friend again?

What is the current stance on Rogues? Attending Funerals (ANY funerals)? member whoring? Speaking in the coffee shops or other areas outside of the 6 cities (can you still be held accountable for this and killed for it?).

Im sure there are lots more things I could think of that have been completely sullied and mis-shapen over the last few months of dictatorship. Lets just hope that over time we have not swapped one dictatorship for another. :-)

Good work ladies and gentlemen.

If you find the time to read the logs given above Tarbh (I know its a long and dull meeting, of sorts), most if not all of your questions are answered and i'm sure you'll be more than happy with the response to them.
