A New Beginning In a laboratory, hidden inside an abandoned warehouse, Captain Mafia has fully recovered. (*Issue #6) Captain Mafia: Doc, what the hell happened to me? Doc: Well, as you remember, you were an experiment conducted by the government. Well, when the war ended, we weren't finished with your genetic enhancements. So, my colleagues decided to cryogenically freeze you. I fought to send you home, to your family, but they wanted you in case they should ever need you again. Captain Mafia: Maria? The kids? The kids, at least should be alive! I'm a grandfather, aren't I? Doc: No, Paulie. Don Mateo protected them while you were away, just as you had asked. But the cops, they, they caught on to the Don's other businesses... the drugs, the gambling... They busted into the Don's house in the Hamptons. He never did business there, they knew that. Maria and all six of the kids were there, even the baby. The day of the raid, we had just planted a mole inside the SWAT team. It was his first day on the job. He told us Maria came out, holding the baby, the kids behind her. They were the only ones there. The cops gunned them down, in cold blood. Even went back to make sure they were dead. Our guy inside ran off, told us. He lost it. He's in an asylum now. The cops are mostly old men. I'm sorry... Captain Mafia: No..... I will avenge them. Explain this costume to me again. Doc: Not a costume, Paulie. It's your skin, most of your bones and any other tissue that is damaged. They are self replicating nanobots, microscopic robots that mimic your own biological structure. Captain Mafia: So, I'm invincible? Doc: No. Not by a long shot. Removing your head would most definitely kill you. The robots are powered by the electrical impulses created by your brain. The brain itself can be repaired by the 'bots, but if it is totally removed, you're dead. They can repair you as long as they have electricity. A massive dose of microwaves or a huge electromagnetic pulse could prove dangerous as well. It might shut down the nanobots long enough for someone to kill you. Captain Mafia: If I get shot? Doc: About the same as before. The material your old costume was made out of was woven from these nanobots. You're fairly bulletproof. Your genetics still make you super-strong and super-fast. I do, however, suggest you take this, it is impervious to nearly all munitions. We tested it with a M-1 Abrahms Tank. It stops the shell. You might fly back a hundred yards or so, but the shell will not penetrate the shield. He hands the Captain a shield, in the shape of a disk, perfectly round and perfectly matte black. (Ok, stole that one from Captain America. In your mind, you should picture Spawn, solid black, minus the glowing eyes, and with a black Captain America shield.) Doc: It will fly, as well. It can be used as a weapon. With your strength, you should be able to throw it through most objects. And you'll want these - He throws the Captain the twin black .45's. The Captain catches them, and puts them in the holsters on either side of his waist. Captain: Who is this NARC in the red coat? What about the solid white guy? Doc: The Red NARC? I don't know. The Randomizer, as the white guy calls himself, is wacking people left and right, for no reason. If I'm right about him, he may be a problem... Captain: I'm out of here, Doc. Thanks for everything. I've got some things I need to take care of. Captain Mafia emerges from the lab and stands in the light of the street lamp. A gunshot is heard in the distance and he is gone... | I doubt it. I know him, he never gets screwed. Wait, you meant screwed as in "in trouble," not "laid." In that case, yes, he is in trouble. | |

| I loathe you all! The only reason I can't get "screwed" as you so rudely pointed out is because I was created by 47 Enterprises (Trademark and All Rights Reserved) and the CEO deemed it unnecessary to manufacture me anatomically correct. However, since I broke the mold (not in the complimentary sense, I tripped and literally broke the mold and since our CEO is broke and didn't...oh, nevermind) 47 decided to shut down operations. But, if given the right "parts" and opportunity, I could get "screwed." | |
