When I first took the reins of this city I told the masses that I would be a lot more open with what is happening in New York. Well that has not changed so today I would like to address a few things in relations to New York.

I will try and keep this all as short and straight to the point as possible. First things first, the war. Many people are asking for reasons behind it and most leaders have been fairly quiet about it, that is their right. For me personally I have no real understanding about why the war started. First thing I heard about it was when the bullets started to fly and bodies were hitting the ground. As the war progressed it became obvious to me that New York could not and would not just stand on the sidelines. I made the choice to back my brothers and sisters in Chicago. It was a costly war for everyone. After the fall of Roman and Premeir we should have been focus on rebuilding this place and fixing up what we thought Roman and Co did wrong. War should have been the last thing on our minds. But as always people get suspicious of each other, start seeing threats that are not there, conversations begin to start and word leaks out. I hope we as a community can learn from this and move on.

To New York itself, I have recently authed Ashes. Ashes and his bloodline has been with me since the beginning and after the fall of many great people in my city including fellow crew leader Jester, Ashes became the ideal choice to help fill in the void Jester left behind. His constant hard work for this city and genuine love for it will make him a great asset.

I hope, as evident from recent meetings, that we all can come together more to work things out and really bring the right changes to this place that have been lacking for too long.

Engineer seems to stroll from out of no where, a thick red mist of energy seems to follow around his legs. He sets his trusty wrench onto his right shoulder, tipping his hard hat upward to gain a view of the speaker, listening to the speech. After it was completed, he chimes in with his two scraps of metal.

That there sounds like a mighty fine plan you got going on. You city boys just know how keep runnin', don't ya?

I'll be wishin' you luck, partner. You may not need a teleporter, but I'd be glad to offer one of my dispensers for ya.

The Engineer suddenly twitches, as if a sixth sense takes over his body.

Spy sappin' my teleporter!

He rushes off in a flash, sprinting back from where he came while swinging madly with his wrench. Soon, the sound of a loud THWACK pierces the air, followed by a "I told you don't touch that darn thing." Afterward, only the brief moment of metal hitting against metal is heard, and the Engineer is on his way.

You & I both know, in our short time being friends here, that you truly deserve this honor.  It's not above your payroll anymore bud ;)

Congratulations, and hopefully we can grow and prosper together.

It's never easy to build in uncertain times, however with over 400 civilians and petty thieves to be housed if they stick around build we must.
