| Sponsers and Associates | Started by: FattyFats on Nov 11, '11 21:44 |

With the recent wars, I got thinking (yes thats dangerous) about the relationship between a sponsor and an associate. From where I see, an associate essentially works for the sponsor, and not the Crew Leader. Taking this into account, surely if the Crew Leader dies, the associate should still retain attached to his sponsor, as that who he is working for. And likewise, when the sponser joins a new family, the associate should automatically follow him. Therefore, keeping the RP side a bit more accurate.
Only a little change, I know, but it does a few things:
At the end of the day, an associate works for a sponsor, and therefore until they are made, should continue working for him, unless the sponsor dies...

What if the crew sending the invite has room for only one of them? |

I agree with it 100%. The way the mob hierarchy worked, the associates ONLY loyalty would be to the sponsor, not to the crew itself Often, the more 'green' members wouldn't even know which family his made guy sponsor worked for - that way, if he did get pinched the info he'd be able to give the cops would be a minimum.
Good change, nice one. |

Frown, then it would be up to the associate. Does he do the right thing and look for someone to house the both of them. Or is he selfish and cuts the associate loose, to potentially be killed by those hunters who love cleaning up after wars? Likewise, what about the leader...if he knows he could potentially get 2 good members, the easy solution is to cut loose one of his IA's...Plenty of different, realistic options imo |

I would like this idea if it were the Sponsors recruiting people, or it was the Sponsors that unsponsored folks talked to to get an invite. Presently, we have a system where some member of the crew hierarchy recruits someone, and then lines up a sponsor to send that person an invite. If the crew's upper structure were to stay out of recruiting completely, I would back this idea 100%. But as long as sponsors are just a means to route incoming members into the family, the relationship between Sponsor and Associate won't be as crucial. |

Another one to add is atm, if your sponser dies, you automatically join the main family. It should be that if your sponser dies, you then become unsponsered. |

gotta admit, i like your origanal idea fats, but the unsponsored, i'm completely against. you would see a lot of dead associates that way. |

Was jsut a morning though! Never really thought about it much, but I can see the issue. Was more thinking about the RP side. |
