Do you Read? Or do you prefer a good audio book? Started by: NiBiRU on Dec 14, '23 02:16

I can read or listen to books, so if I'm like in work or going in I would read something to listen to a audio version

I travel a lot for my work, so whenever I’m in a car it’s a lot easier to listen to an audiobook or a podcast then reading a book, so for me it’s defined audio. Nevertheless I have no problem with reading a book either.

I still try to enjoy a good book in my former academic disciplines, when I have some extra time. I don't do audio books because I stopped having people read to me when I was six years old. I would like to get out of the nonfiction genre and actually try to enjoy some fantasy/sci-fi, but after so many years the academic stuff has become habit.

I really prefer to read. It is amazing when you find a good book and can sit and relax reading it. Never tried audiobooks to be honest, not sure if i would have patience for it.

I do like to read, but I can't do the audio books, its just not the same. I actually prefer ebooks.

I love buying books.  I love to have the feel of a book in my hands.  But I don't read them.  Ever.  I much prefer audio books.

Both.  Honestly I love both.  I do like how readily available Kindle books are but I do love the feel of a paper book as well.  But when it comes down to it, either way! As long as I can access books, I'm happy.

I love buying books.  Love to have the feel of a new book in my hands.  But I never read them.  I go out and get the audiobook and listen.  Great for long car rides.

My brain does not allow me to listen to audiobooks. I'm good at memorizing text and remembering where sections are in a book. With audio, I just can't do that.

Both, i like a good environmental or science book while at work (I'm a environmental consultant). But in the evening before sleep i like to hold a book and have a good read. I'm currently reading about the close links of peatlands and whiskey.

I tend to leave the non fiction to holiday when I'm switched off mentally.

I read a lot of books when I was younger, but nowadays I find it easier to listen to an audiobook

So I love to read, but then I got a cataract in my eye. So now I rely on audiobooks now, unfortunately or library apps like Libby.

Currently reading a book a week, typical about crime and/or the Mafia. Recently read John Binder's Al  Capone's Beer Wars, which was one of the best books I've ever read on true crime. Before that, Mr. Capone by Robert Schoenberg which was also a great read. Next on the docket is Chicago Assassin: Jack McGurn.

I workout and walk every day and during my walks I will listen to audiobooks from time to time if I'm not listening to music. I find audiobooks can peak my interest in a subject but I don't retrain as much if I'm not actively reading.
