Alright - I'm probably going out on a limb with this one, so let me lay down a disclaimer before I start:
1) I don't know if anyone has suggested this before now.
2) I profess absolutely zero knowledge about coding.
3) Its just a thought that occurred to me - I'm well aware that while some may like it, others may not. That's fine - all opinions are more than welcome.
So here goes.
The recent spate of BG wacks reminded me of something I wondered when I came to MR not long ago. I found myself asking why there is no way of tracing when a mobster flew between cities; for example, I received a WS, but had since flown and forgotten where I had originally received it. I thought it would have been useful if I could go into my personals, and check the last city I'd been in/what time I'd flown elsewhere.
Now, with the BG wacks in mind, I thought that having this sort of traceability would be beneficial in other ways - for example, tracking down shooters. Right now, when someone wacks a BG (or anyone else for that matter), all they have to do is fly, pronto, and there you have it; they're much more difficult to track down.
If flight traceability were made available both within a member's personals, and of course to their individual CL/Godfather, this information could be used to help identify shots with much greater ease. I'm not saying that all and sundry should be privvy to these details - merely members in authority in addition to an individual themselves.
These are the very barest bones of an idea, and if anyone thought it worthy I'm sure it would require a lot of tweaking, but I just thought I'd put it out there as something perhaps worth considering, especially given that it seems to be open season on BGs. Plus, of course, it may well need a mammoth amount of coding (I don't know, see my second point) and therefore be a completely redundant idea.
Any thoughts? |

I like the idea but maybe instead of receiving a ws your crew leader could click on a record of where you had been or have a possibility to search a time to see where you had been. Frankly this would not have much use and it would be a pain in the ass to have to receive a ws every other second because someone flew. |

I'm not sure you understood where I'm coming from...I didn't suggest that we receive a WS every time someone flies... |

Oh ok so would it be family contained? |

''I'm not saying that all and sundry should be privvy to these details - merely members in authority in addition to an individual themselves.''
Not even necessarily the whole family - it would be on a need-to-know basis. |
