With the xbox 360 and the ps3 coming nesr its end( about 2 years left ), and with loads of rumors about the xbox 720 and ps4, I ask you this, Do we really need new consoles?

Companies are always going to create/push new concoles. Inovation is the key to survival for any good buisness

Not needed, and I doubt the PS3 has only 2 years left. I think it has another 4 years left. It's a strong system and only needs updates. Especially with the Ps3 slim already out, it already looks sleek.

I don't know much about 360 so i don't care to speak on it.

They are needed if Xbox and Playstation are to stay in buisness. Sooner than later, the sales of these consoles will decline. The companys need to push newer 'better' consoles to continue to bring in mass income needed to support game funding, employees, ect

I think both the 360 and PS3 have many years left, a new xbox won't be released for at least another 3 to five years, Especially since the new Xbox dashboard system is coming out soon,.

I think consoles are very outdated you can tell by the games that come out with so little graphical improvements over there predecessor such as MW3 as a example, looks almost identical to MW2 in my opinion. That is why i stick with Computer gaming because you can always upgrade your hardware not awaiting the next console to come out.

dont really see the need for new consoles? the ps3 and xbox 360 cant get much better and now with 3d televisions gaming has become even better. i think if sony and microsoft are to bring out a new xbox and playstation then it is nothing more than greed

i am a console fan but i would rather a computer that can emulate all the games that specifically are released for limited consoles.  i know at the rate cores go up is only time and improved emulation programmes however is always some excitement about a new console and the games it can run, just dissapointed when re-release some games in the new format
