| Casinos; Addressing the NPM/credit problem | Started by: Sprozz on Nov 17, '11 19:22 |

We saw a fantastic suggestion from Frown in relation to addressing the shortfall in credits associated with the discontuation of the NPM feature here. In a similar vein, I've got a suggestion which too would counterbalance (or at least help counterbalance) the existing problm without fundamentally editing the way any features work, or without adding any new features.
Currently, casinos are purchasble with ingame cash only, the change I would like to propose is that they be purchasable by credits only. Using the rough estimate of casino price as $22,800,800 (for ease of division) and and average credit price of $300,000 this would equate to 76 credits per casinos, in other words $76 towards the game's running costs for every casino purchased (obviously these prices coulld be edited as necessary).
Of course, this would ultimately not mean a lot, as casinos are normally only operated by the elite, and as such the turnover for them is exceedingly low. Therefore, I would also suggest a monthly maintanence/upkeep/bribe (whatever you want to call it) cost to ensure you keep the casino. I wouldn't even like to suggest a credit figure here, as I don't really know what casinos makes in a week/month and therefore what would be viable as a bribe, but presumably it would be tied into the level of 'max bet' for each casino.
Additional Options
- The games in the casino (craps, blackjack etc) also being purchasble by credits
- The possibility of introducing gambling with credits as an option in addition to money. This I think has great potential and arguably warrants it's own thread
Major Pros:
- Introduces a large bulk of credits whenever a casino is bought, plus repeat credits on a monthly or weekly basis
- Normally, casinos are only reserved for the very top end of players due to the exorbitant cost. If they were purchasble by credits, more of the userbase may be eligible to purchase one
Major Cons:
- The actual price of casinos (in game money) mary vary massively depending on creditplace activity. The only way around this is if it could be coded that the casino price would always = $22,800,000 and the actual credit cost would vary depending on what $22,800,000 was worth in the current marketplace (I dont know how possible, if at all, this would be)
- If casinos became more widely availble, it is plausible that there would be a player enforced ban on anyone but CL's (or certain people) owning them to maximise profits, which brings us to square one.
I'm sure I'll think of more as time goes on but I'll get this thread out now before the thoughts all leak out of my brain. |

Sprozz, I like this idea, and would like to twist it a bit. Rather then casinos, why not to if for DFP's instead? It maybe costs 10 credits to buy a DFP, and 1 credit every 2 days to keep the uprunning of it. Then allow you to 'stack' upto 5 days with 10 credits? Therefore the yield is fairly similar to that of a couple of NPM's, with the major difference being there will be a lot more DFPs in the game then NPMs and therefore more money spent? |

Trouble with that Fatty, you'd have to adjust the figures considerably, given the large amount of made man +, you could probably still sell the DFP for IG cash and make the bribes credit related, or even lower the credit bribe price and achieve the same effect.
You'd also need scaled down prices too, if a coke DFP was 10 credits, heroin would need to be 9 and so on. |

Yeah, I still think there should be a "Premium DFP" purchasable with credits. Maybe only for CLs, like NPMs were... |
