Your family Started by: Philli-Stein on Nov 18, '11 04:14

Philli-Stein walks to the ever present soapbox, and makes his stand.

"My family means a lot to me. I'm not speaking of my crew, although  they are my brothers and sisters, but of my bloodline.

My Papa was a member of a new York family, and a fairly strong one at that. he was rising in the ranks and making connections. My Grandaddy survived two deaths of Crew leaders and was also a rising star. although My line has never even been a hand, they have done important jobs in many different Families over the years. I have learned volumes from their work, and the words they left for me. And that lineage, not powerful, maybe not well known, but proud and steadfast, is what drives me to become the best i can be.

So let me ask you. what does your bloodline mean to you? not in terms of how their legacy got you  a position as a hand, but in terms of who they are, what they did, and how that makes you who you are.

Our mafia family is everything to us. What does you blood family mean to you?"

Philli steps down and waits to see who will give him an answer.

La Muerta steps up and listens carefully to Philli.

"What family means to me? Well they mean more than i could possibly express. They have given me the skills i need just to know how to type this message.

La Muerta sits back and waits to hear what others have to say

Pharol walks past the soapbox, and smiles at the most recent discussion stirring in his beloved Streets.

Family?! Gah... I hate my family. My dad was an absolute asshole, but only at home. He'd always be pissed about how he couldn't speak his mind in public. He would always dilute his opinions in an effort to prevent displeasing the wrong crowd. He was a coward, and it was a good thing he died serving his boss or I would've held no respect for his lazy ass. I didn't even bother visiting his funeral, as I was too busy starting my own criminal career.

My father accomplished very little, and I cannot wait to surpass his few achievements with my own. What does my blood family mean to me? You can always do better.

Pharol sees the empty soapbox, so he picks it up and carries it with him as he trots off. "Might as well keep one handy," he thinks.

I come from a very long line of many Pickles before me.  Ever since before the first V-Day massacre!  Being a Pickle is an honor, and well quite frankly, a blessing.  We keep expectations low.  But, I have many a proud ancestor to look up to.  Mr. Pickles, and favorite family name . . . but, there has also been the famed swashbucker Pirate Pickles, the heroic Doctor Pickles, the entertaining Ringmaster Pickles, the wise Professor Pickles, the (un)holy Father Pickles . . . the list goes on and on.  The Pickles legacy is known for their honestly, friendliness, and being all-around good looking.

Texas Pickles starts flipping through his pop's diary.

Hmm SKADOOSH listens to Pickles speech and ponders to him self what has his blood line taught him.

My blood line has been around for a long time, most behind the scene scoring alittle cash here and there but always soaking in the knowledge from around them passing it on from generation to generation, ultimately forming me, a man of great knowledge and a higher understanding and desire to make strong strives within this life. Me, my dad, and my grandfather have spent a many night discussing ideas, and opinions, and I belive the time is now. to Full engage in these undergoings.

My family line, well without digging back into the safe of time I would have to go about saying my ancestors have all been pretty much same, all the way through, we are firm believers in respect and honour and might even go as far as saying we take it to the next level. In this line of work there are always going to be thing you don’t want to do that is un avoidable and if you cannot stomach it then I might suggest over seeing a new profession. What I mean is my family line has never stepped on anyone because they could, or disrespect someone because of there unknowing. We have never been here to bully or cut down anyone because they were wrong, in the streets we have always prided ourselves on the respect we have for ourselves and give to others.

You don’t learn this line of work over night, myself and my forefathers have always been everything they could be to not only there family, but the community as a hole, or as much as they could any how without crossing any boundaries. My family line has been around long enough to take it upon ourselves to help teach and share and watch fellow family members grow and prosper, my family line has experienced quite a bit in our eight years of duty and being passed down to one generation to the next it would be something selfish not to pay it forward as there we many who helped me on my road of knowledge.

I would like to think that every spawn your family line has is a new opportunity to learn and grow, you take what you learn from your ancestors and perfect it and who knows where you can end up. Saying that my family line has been extremely important to me, without them this line of work would be nothing but a new blur to me, and the same for my son when his time comes to step into duty. Without your family lines knowledge and putting it into action, your pretty much chopped liver every time your line comes into this type of work.

Thanks for the time,

-Dempsey

Texas Pickles takes note that the two arguing the loudest are the least paid attention to.

Mediocre?  I'll have you know that Mr. Pickles had not yet BEGUN to be mediocre!  Average looking RHM?  I believe he won The Tabloid News best lookin' contest.  Some say it was rigged.  They lie.  As for the paper itself, where's your precious Chuckle now?
