*The Gentleman walks on the stage* Many of us step off the boat looking for the American dream, a better life for ourselves and our loved ones. To ensure we can provide a good life we join families to make an extra buck we then put our heads down and work. But there are the bad apples who give the good newcomers a bad a reputation. I remember when my Papa first stepped off the boat I was just a young boy by his side, he said to me, "Son I am going to provide for you so you don't have to worry about anything ever again. Son I will be the best that I can be I hope that's enough; God will prevail and reward us for our hard work, maybe not in this life but another" No he wasn't much of a public speaker; he just wanted a life where he could settle down and provide like I do now. I don't want fame nor glory I just want to get my point across. After he joined a family he asked for a loan which he was not given, so he earned his way up not getting the trust he could have. He then died after a Mafioso made false accusations. No one trusted him because of the bad apples. I conducted an experiment; I waited for a member of my family to ask me for a loan which happened about four days into my life in America. He asked for 100 grand I replied "You can only carry five units that is way to much money" he then asked for 30 grand. At this point I knew I was being conned but what's an experiment without a Guinea pig. So I gave him the cash, low and behold next thing I know he is in the obituary. Now who's fault is it I got conned? Is it mine for being open hearted and trusting a fellow brother. Is it my fault this person came to my from within my family. If it is does this mean the recruiting system is to easy? Should my family introduce a disclaimer about loans? I know it doesn't seem a lot of money but to a Mafioso like me it is. A Mafioso will give their money to their sons until they can afford luxuries but, what makes this give newcomers a bad reputation you ask. Imagine you get conned out of money by a newcomer the next time someone comes along will you be more weary of them? Maybe not but, I know I will be. |

| It is depressing how many people will try and take advantage of the average mafioso and its unfortunate that some good will be turned down for the previous lack of honesty in others. Most people are probably like you they send the money but don't really expect to see it returned. When it is returned they're that much more impressed. | |

My moto in the case of loans, is fuck 'em. I, like you, have been stung too many times. I see you asked who's fault it is? It's ours, who gives 30k to a complete stranger just because they asked? Not many people I know. The fact is, they can get by without the loan, crime is an easy way of life, if they do a few petties and peddle some of the cheaper drugs, they'll have the 30k. When asked for a loan, I reply with advise, stating the old famous saying: "If you give a man a fish, he'll eat that night. If you teach him how to fish, he'll eat forever." |
