Ruffian used to live in a small town, alone. His friends used to call him Ruff. One would think Ruff was just short for Ruffian but in reality this nickname was given to Ruffian as he had a rough life. You see, he had no family, as his mother passed away before he was born and his father passed away soon after. Or maybe it was the other way around, but that's not how Ruff tells it. Anyway, he was just a baby so what does he know and why should we care.

He grew up at his aunt's house with his cousin Falka who was only 6 months older than RUff. Ruff thought they had a good bond with Falka but one day Falka decided run away. Ruff was only 6years old at that time and life was even rougher for Ruff now. You would think it was because he missed his cousin but that is not the case entirely. The thing is, his aunt and uncle were very abusive, and they used to beat up Ruff and Falka at least two to three times a day. This was the main reason why Falka ran away and @Ruff was sad that his cousin did not even take Ruff with him. With Falka gone, it was @Ruff alone who was beaten up for the both of them. The beatings for Ruff increased from two to three times a day, to five times a day at the least.

Years passed and Ruff was now a young man. At seventeen years of age Ruff had crippling depression and social anxiety. This was undiagnosed of course, but it was there. His uncle used to make him work the field and not pay him anything for it. Hus aunt and uncle said they fed him and gave him a roof over his head, and now that Ruff was grown up it was time to pay back his aunt and uncle, with free manual labor. His work was not even appreciated and he was still beaten daily.

Sometimes Ruff would curse Falka for leaving and other times he would curse his aunt and uncle for not having another kid. This was because his aunt and uncle were many things, racist, assholes, abusers, etc. but they didn't discriminate between a girl and a boy. So Ruff thought if they had another kid at least he or she would share the beating with Ruff. You may call Ruff a little selfish but years of abuse had messed him up.

Ruff managed to get a part time job at a small local bar in his town so he could earn some money and maybe run away, but by the story so far we already know, good things aren't meant to happen to Ruff.
