DFP Addition. Started by: Omniscient on Nov 28, '11 19:40

Currently if you have a DFP, you can only produce one drug and one drug only. Keeping it simple of course, but why not make it to where you can have your DFP produce more then one drug, or have it where you can purchase more then one DFPs.

I know this will put more money into the game but there are ways to offset this.

If you were able to either produce more then one drug or have more then on DFPs then more responsibilities should be placed on the owner's shoulders.

- You should have to bribe the FBN on a 12 hour basis to keep more the one DFPs open, or have more then one drug produced. It should cost double to upgrade to the next unit.

I'm sure you all have more ideas then I have, the only con I can think of is more money going into the game.

Report Post Tip

Good Idea:) maybe not 12 hours but a day instead of 2 but great Idea.

Report Post Tip

With the aount of money that the owner will be making, I think 12 hours will due fine, if you're not on your job then you will lose your DFP and someone else will be able to buy one for that city...

Report Post Tip

I'd go for this. I haven't actually had a DFP yet, but if this were implemented I'd be inclined to go for one (or two) sooner, because there's more breadth there. I also see no issue with the 12 hour time frame; if you're going to invest in a DFP, you might as well be willing to commit the time as well as the money.

Report Post Tip

Lets say you have 30 possible units. Could you buy 30 barbs and 30 heroin or 15 barbs and 15 heroin? Awesome idea!

Report Post Tip

It could be 15 each.

But lets say it was 30 barbs and 30 heroin. The way to balance this out is that if you order 2 different drugs to be produced in one DFP then it will of course take longer for the DFP to produce it, instead of 24 hour production rate, it would be 36 to 48 hour production rate. I'm just throwing things out there. But there are many ways to tweak this idea to make it benefit the game as a whole and not just a "Money in Pocket" feature.

Report Post Tip

Keep in mind that not everyone is on every 12 hours. Some people have lives and can be away for 12+ hours at a time. This is why they went with a 48 hour timer on paying for your DFP upkeep. To make it so those who aren't here 24/7 and are busy working or with their families can have the same chance at running one as someone who is here and doesn't have as active a lifestyle.

Report Post Tip

Lola, that was directed at you by the way... And now I will continue.

Just because I have a life, a family, and a job does not mean I do not invest my time into my role here.

This is the case for many.

Again, SOME of us have lives. Some of us can't be here as much as others. We do not deserve to be punished for this by not being able to maintain our DFP/

Report Post Tip

MonaLott, I think it was a little unfair to aim that directly at me. I'm not the only one that stated I have no issue with a 12 hour timeframe. That's not to say I will always have this time at my disposal; quite the opposite, in fact. And, might I add, I said nothing about anyone being 'punished' for having a life. I merely agreed with the suggestion. Just because my name appears frequently in the 60 second list or on IRC does not mean that I'm not busy with other things throughout the course of the day, and I'll thank you to not insinuate otherwise.

As Omniscient said, tweaks could be applied so that the change suits everyone across a broad spectrum. If a 12 hour window doesn't suit you, then that is fair enough - you could have simply stated that without singling me out. I'm pretty damn well offended that you did. You may want to employ some of your time getting to know someone a little better before using a suggestion thread to make public assumptions about their lifestyle.

Report Post Tip

I really should have been clearer...

I meant the part about not everyone being on every 12 hours being directed at you.

The statements regarding some of us having lives was more of a generalization.

Sorry for any offence taken. I was in a rush when posting and was not clear.

I really should have made it clear when I said I was continuing that it was a generalization.

Report Post Tip

That's fine - it did come across as quite abrasive, but thanks for clearing it up.

I do appreciate that not everyone would be able to work around the time aspect of the suggestion, but maybe if it were filled out with plenty of input from everyone so that we had something that suits us all, it could be a good addition.

Report Post Tip

This oddly enough seems familiar... I'm pretty sure I've seen this feature on another mafia game that has presence on Jaundies...

Proposing an idea without attributing its origin is just such an Injustice!

Report Post Tip

I like the idea but heres my issue ... there already aren't enough DFP's available for everyone to have, with the city population loss of NPMs alot of cities populations have gone down significantly lower the amount of purchasable DFPs.

To say that we need two of them is stretching it a little bit.

I'm all for making more money but lets try a different way to do it. I'm sure this sounded like a great idea at the time but I don't see how this is practical enough to work into the game at this point.

Maybe first lets try to find a way to make DFPs more available to the population before we get too greedy.

I have no idea what you're going on about. I have never ever played any other mafia games other then MR.
