Kevin's sitting on the stoop, watching the crowd, smoking his cigarette, as you walk by he whistles to you, and you turn. Come here for a second, will you? I've been pondering something, and it's struck me funny. I was pondering the fact that I've spoken a few times in the last few minutes. And I was thinking that I shouldn't speak again, for fear of looking like a chatter box. But then I realized that, what's the point of having a voice, if you don't use it? I mean, honestly, your voice is there to be used, whether it be used constantly, or very little, why is it there if you don't use it? It amused me how things had turned, where I was going to halt myself from speaking, for fear of being noticed, for speaking. It's quite a paradox to find myself in, is it not? But yea, that's all, kid, get back to your stick ball game. |

I always say if you have something decent to say, why not say it. Might do ya some good. If your talking just to hear yourself talk thats when you should shut up. |

| I believe the same, sir, and that was part of the reason I paused. I was wondering to myself if what I was going to say was going to be worth saying. But, that idea aside, I believed this was destined to be spoken. | |

To be speak or not to speak: that is the question. I understand what is troubling you; Do you speak your mind, and risk upsetting someone, and get killed? Do you speak your mind, people recognise your name, and you become a future target when the shit hits the fan? Or do you remain quiet, stay in the shadows, listen but dont speak, and keep safety first. Well I think I have your answer, with one simple statement: "WE ALL DIE EVENTUALLY" Now why have i bought up the fact we will all die? Well its simple. Would you rather die having kept quiet? Would you rather of died not airing your opinion? Would you rather die through being in the wrong place at the wrong time, by a random bullet from a random shooter? Personally, I would much rather die having opened my mouth. Kill me for my views? Well it shows that my views were true. The question is; 'Are you willing to die for your words?' Answer yes, speak as much as you want. Answer no, disapear to the shadows and await the bullet |

Frenchie... That's not what I meant by this topic. I don't worry about speaking my mind, as I can do so in a respectful manor. The point of this topic is the fact that I was pondering keeping quiet for the fact of keeping quiet, considering the fact that I had spoken twice previously, and noone else had spoken yet. But, since you brought it up, I will respond. I don't worry about my life with words. I worry about my actions. I worry about my choice of words. But I do not worry about speaking. Speech is a given in our world. I use it freely. What I say does not offend, because I use intelligence in my speech. I am respectful at all times, and I always appreciate the one with whom I am speaking, be they friend or foe. Anyone that takes the time to pass a word to me is respected, as they have taken the time. |

I understand now, I think. Whilst having something relevant to say, you dont want to be seen as speaking for the sake of speaking, or being an attention seeker. Thus diluting something you have previously said. Sometimes it is better to say little, which says a lot, rather then say a lot, but say very little. Quality over quantity i guess! In the past, I have been worried as labelled as a 'spammer' or be saying something jsut to say something. Hell, at this minute, some people are probably thinking 'why is he talking, he has nothing to say.' If nobody else has something decent to say, yet you wish to continue speakin, I for one will not be stopping you. And as a side note, one good thing about CP is they do seemingly attempt to promote street activity, so I am sure that by speaking, it will be noticed by them and appreciated. Why, Frenchie, I dare say you easily grasped the subject matter there. And, we seem to have pretty much the same idea about speaking. I for one refuse to limit myself to a number of speaking engagements per day, for worry of being seen as a "spammer" or "attention seeking" as I seek nothing other then conversation. What I know, and what I believe, are all that matter to me. If one wishes to refute me on such, I shall battle them with tounge, and pen, and let the lyric be my sword! |
