BREAKING NEWS - LAS VEGAS
by Africanus

Perhaps you may remember the coverage of Las Vegas’ progress in last week’s issue of Mafioso Tradizione. Hawk, StuPickles and mostly recent DonnieBrasco setup shop and joined the leadership of Las Vegas. Violence broke out today following DonnieBrasco and associates’ move to Las Vegas. DonnieBrasco and his crew allegedly opened fire on Funtcase and his respective family. Some if not all of the other Las Vegas families rushed to Funcase’s defense and have returned fire. After nearly eleven and half hours of gunplay, the battle for Las Vegas still rages on. DonnieBrasco, Funtcase have both succumbed to wounds inflicted and scores are left dead as well. KeithGandor, former RHM to DonnieBrasco has taken the helm and continues exchange fire with the rest of Vegas. The end result is any one's guess at this point.

RELEASE THE HOUND(S)
by Africanus

At approximately 3:45 pm, Thursday December 8th, a single gunshot was heard coming from the residence of St. Louis syndicate leader SuperX. Police, fire and ambulance services rushed to the scene. Medical examiners arrived not long after and declared the godfather dead. Cause of death was determined to be gunshot wound to the torso. SuperX replaced late godfather -BostonGeorgeJung some months ago and has reigned in St. Louis since his departure on December 8th. Following SuperX’s death, St. Louis capo bastone, Hound took the reins and was soon recognized as the new godfather.

Hound stepped forward and issued a brief statement, praising the late SuperX for his accomplishments and citing the difficult decisions required to properly run a city. Hound announced a new authorization and blessing for WorldsStrongestMan to setup along the existing St. Louis crewleaders.

CREWLEADER SPOTLIGHT
by Monte

I was given a rare opportunity to speak with not just one but BOTH of the Godfathers that rule over our fine cities.

Today's special is a big one, I was able to worm my way into the office of the Godfather of Chicago, JesseJames!!

JesseJames

Monte: Thank you sir for the chance to talk with you

JesseJames: Thank you for taking the time to interview me!

Monte: For the Godfather... anything! Let’s get straight to it then, I know your time is precious.
I have to ask... Godfather... that is a title of power indeed, how does it make you feel and how do you deal with the responsibility

JesseJames: Well, I’ll put it out there right now...I'm really new to this whole Godfather thing, it’s a lot of responsibility and a learning process for me.  Luckily for me i am surrounded by a wonderful group of family members in CH who really influence my every decision.  The responsibility is definitely something that I'm still getting used to.

Monte: Family obviously is important, what do you expect from yours?

JesseJames: Honestly, i put this out there pretty soon after becoming Godfather of Chicago.  I expect only what they can give me.  (OOC: Just because someone might have RL/grown up obligations, I promised never to hold that against them).  There are so many family members in Chicago who have bloodlines that stretch as far back as this thing of ours, and I'm learning to give them more and more responsibility

Monte: you mentioned the amount of responsibility before, lets touch base on that as it is an important subject, I have noticed that the important mafioso of our world seem to be absent from the streets, SuperX(RIP) was only seen 3 times on the streets, you yourself only 5 times I believe. Why are you absent from the streets?

JesseJames: I think that Godfathers/City heads vary as individuals.  Realistically, I'd like to stay out of the limelight as much as possible.  I tend only to speak when i absolutely have to, especially in the streets.  As long as I'm vocal enough with Chicago, its honestly all I really care about.  I have many obligations to my city to have a voice/explain various actions, but not necessarily to other cities.

Monte: I see your point but my own bloodline stretches well beyond most and one thing that was passed down was to be vocal, as a figure head you have a responsibility to show your city, and the others, what a Leader is. If you are silent then so shall everyone else sadly Godfather if you wear a monkey suit, so shall everyone else so what do you plan on doing to fill the responsibility of your role? Or is this what we should expect from you and every other GF to precede you?

JesseJames: Well, I don't necessarily agree with your last statement.  I, in no way discourage activity in the streets, I like many other past Godfathers tend to speak only when i feel the public deserves an explanation of a certain action.  I encourage activity in the streets as much as i can.  There’s nothing better than watching a good debate going on in the streets.  I just don't think it’s my obligation to initiate conversations/debates.  Like I said earlier in this interview I think Godfathers just like the common mafioso varies from person to person.  Some people choose to be vocals while others tend to stay out of the limelight.  Let’s face it, this is a criminal enterprise, as Godfather (head of this business) do you really want to be in the limelight every chance you get?  At the end of the day, all i can really say is that people are different.  I have no business telling any Godfather to be one way or the other.  I also have no business judging those of the past, present or future.

Monte: Today we have seen some interesting events, a very quick and precise hit to the GF SuperX in St.Louis, and the Placing of the new GF Hound. Can you elaborate on the reasoning of this strike?

JesseJames: Definitely, to those who have not yet read the Hound speech just delivered I can explain everything from my own perspective.  Hound came to me last night and informed me that a plan had been uncovered.  The plan included SuperX implanting 3 Rogues in Philadelphia in order to attempt to get that city killed.  Immediately upon hearing this I was troubled.  It’s no secret at least from my own experience with SuperX that he had ambitions of expansion.  There are many ways of going about expansion; this was clearly not one of them.

Monte: I was approached yesterday about an unidentified shooter trying to kill members are the cities, last I had heard he had succeeded in taking one life, is this the instance you are referring, or another matter altogether

JesseJames: Its definitely another matter altogether, these rogues were basically in the process of ranking up to Made before attempting to go rogue.

Monte: Now, what of Los Angeles? Are there any individuals ready to take over this fine city?

JesseJames: Well, if you're asking if there are any capable members the answer to that is yes!  I'm not in a position to say whether or not that city will be occupied any time soon, as that is a decision for the GF Council to determine.

Monte: Fair enough, any last thoughts?

JesseJames: Firstly, I'd love to thank you for this wonderful interview!  I'd also like to take this time to Thank Chicago for all the support they've shown me so far!  Thank you!  The beard lives on!

Monte: Thank you so much for your time Godfather, I hope to see you reading the paper in our fine streets soon!!

Unless you have been living under a rock the last 48 hours, you already know about St. Louis's new Godfather Hound!! Let's get to know what we can expect from our newest Godfather

Hound

Monte: Thank you Godfather for your time, I know you are busy setting up

Hound: Well, what to expect from me. That is a good question. I plan on making St. Louis a city it once was, bring back the culture. Give it back its name

Monte: Now instead of a family you have a city, your responsibilities are extensive, how do you handle your everyday issues and still keep a presence in the streets of our fine world?

Hound: It’s definitely a tough task, but I was once told to manage your time wisely. That is an art I'm still learning but confident I will succeed!

Monte: One of the subjects I will bring up in this edition of the paper is silence in the streets from our top Mafioso you yourself have only visited our streets 6 times in the span of your criminal career, the last was obviously about SuperX and your new position. My personal family line stretches years and I was taught from generation to generation that street presence is mandatory,  to keep yourself involved yet here we are, GF's and CL's hardly in the streets clicking away in their offices, not taking the time to be involved with our streets can we expect something different from you?

Hound: I see, well I have learned from some great Mafioso's of our past. Some have great street presence some not so much. Still were at the top of the list Expect to see different from me? Of course, I will give attention where attention is needed.

Monte: What plans are you making or ideas do you have for St. Louis?

Hound: Well our inter structure needed to be changed first and foremost. But as for the rest of the world I plan to make a few changes that I will show this world when the time is right

Monte: Any last thoughts?

Hound: I don't mean to be a man of few words, but my thoughts are going to be carried through my actions

Monte: Thank you very much for your time and your thoughts, Godfather!

Hound: You’re welcome, thank you for your time :)

Cassiopeia’s Corner
by Cassiopeia

Cassiopeia: Lotta, first of all, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy schedule to sit down and talk with me today. When the opportunity came up to speak with you, I was extremely ecstatic! First, let's start off with... How are you today??

LottaBEssen: Well it got above 0 degrees Fahrenheit today, so I'd say peachy! Philadelphia is damn cold in the winter time.

Cassiopeia: Yes it is very cold! Ok done to brass tactics... I think the first thing the people would like to know is, how do you feel about the current state of your city?

LottaBEssen: We have a solid group of people here, who all care very much about this city. We are strong and committed, as has been proven over the past few weeks with the many trials and tribulations we've encountered. All in all, I would say I'm quite happy with the state of Philly and where we're headed as a Family.

Cassiopeia: I think that sounds fabulous! Speaking of where you're headed... What are some of your goals for your city? That you could share with me of course.

LottaBEssen: We would love to have more quality people join us. Pharol just recently opened the doors to his headquarters and let me tell you, that man goes all out when it comes to luxuries. Full service bars, women on call, tapestries. TAPESTRIES! Who knew the man has taste? In any case, we just want to grow and become a tighter Family. And of course, make money. Lots and lots of money.

Cassiopeia: Tapestries eh? Very intriguing! So does this mean we might expect a casino in Philly at some point?

LottaBEssen: Indeed. There are more surprises, but you'll have to come to Philadelphia to find out what they are!

Cassiopeia: Oh! I love surprises! So Lotta, tell me, where do you get your inspiration? It's always great to see a city leader speak so highly of their city and the people within it.

LottaBEssen: Well, that's exactly where I get it from. My Family. If not for them, I wouldn't be where I am today. I do all I do for them.

Cassiopeia: That sounds like the perfect inspiration. Well, let's get into something surely most people are expecting. What is your opinion on the controversy surrounding your city lately? It seems as if people just can't mind their own business when it comes to what you're doing.

LottaBEssen: Haters make me popular! She says with a laugh. No seriously, it's been troublesome at times. Sometimes it's been downright disrespectful. But all in all, I feel my Family and myself have handled each situation just fine. People are entitled to their opinions, I don't want to take that away from anyone. But at the same time, some of these people making judgements against me have never even taken the time to talk to me, or get to know me. Judging from afar is easy.

Cassiopeia: It seems as if it has made you and your city even stronger.

LottaBEssen: We are stronger for it. When people hate on you so much, it only makes us want to get batter... erm batter would equal better... Anyways... So we will. This is how we roll.

Cassiopeia: It sounds like you've got a good head on your shoulders and firm grasp on your intentions.

LottaBEssen: Well, regardless of what some people's opinions are, I handle my business the way I know how. It may not be their way, but it's my way. So far, my way has been nothing but good intentions. Unless, of course, you threaten my city, then it's on.

Cassiopeia: Is there anything I didn't ask that you would like people to know about you and Philly?

LottaBEssen: I guess I want some pancakes! She says with a wink as they both laugh.

Cassiopeia: Lotta, it's been a pleasure sitting here with you today! I want to thank you again for taking the time out to speak with me and hopefully this clears up any misconceptions people may have about you and Philly.

LottaBEssen: Philly is an open door. Anyone who wants to know how this city works is more than welcome to come talk to any of us. We're full of strong bloodlines and good people. It has been my pleasure talking with you today Cassiopeia. Always a pleasure, since I love you more always.

Editorial: Is silence truly golden?
by Monte

“Be seen not heard” A fair statement most have heard during childhood, at rightly so. How many have judged a parent by loudness of their children! Today we are not talking about children, today we are talking about the “leaders” of our fine world. Does the same formula apply? Can you even call yourself a leader if you don’t have a presence in our fine streets?
Yesterday we had a series of events; the first event was The_Civilian making Don, a celebratory event that should have pulled the masses together for a fine time, instead I watched as the citizens of New Orleans waited around, at first with excitement to hear from the Don, the excitement fell from the faces slowly as the day progressed, children who were once smiling ear to ear waiting for the day’s events to unfold soon turned bored and sluggish, ready for naps or something better to do. The organisers of the events took notice and slowly took the podium and shared their own happiness for the new Don, a kind gesture but still everyone waited for the Don himself. As people started to leave obviously disappointed that the Don did not even care enough to make it to his own party I decided to sneak a look from a building that faces the Dons HQ, as I did my best to see into the Don’s window I was struck by a vision that sadly will haunt me for some time. There at the desk was the Don sitting in what appeared to be a monkey suit and a gag, while clicking away at something on his desk...
This is not but one of the events that took place yesterday, WorldsStrongestMan a new Boss in St. Louis was announced, I still have yet to hear this “deserving” man come to the streets and introduce himself...
This monkey suit epidemic is hitting all of our fine cities, take a closer look at the street presence of your own leader:

Listed from the most appearances to the least, this is what our leaders bring to this thing of ours...

If you find your leader falls to the bottom of this... nay even the top of this list, I beg you to drag the monkey suit off of them, help them see the sun light and take them for a walk down our fine streets. It is not too late!! The streets are always here, as long as you are among the living, you have a chance to change your public appearance and show our cities you deserve your position due to more than a monkey suit!

There was a time in our world were the VOICE of a person was what made our Leaders known. Leaders died because they refused to use their voice. IRC Avenue is a great place to keep your HQ, meet new people, and share a story or two, but the STREETS!!! That is where a good leader lives. A leader is expected to show the world what this thing of ours is about. Right now in the current state, all the leaders are showing our young mafioso that being silent, wear the monkey suit, and you will reach the stars....

PEACE AGREEMENT BROKERED

As of 09:00 Mafia time today an agreement was drawn up between Mod and MorbidAngel to promote peace. The agreement stated that both Mod and MorbidAngels crews would deal peacably with each other with neither side trying to kill the other. Should any of the crewmembers of either family ignore this truce, they will be dealt with by their own crew boss following discussion between the bosses and investigation. The talks were entered into after a misunderstanding meant that MorbidAngel was under the impression that a threat had been made by Mod, where no threat existed. This was resolved very quickly following the start of the talks with both parties being polite and civil, answering each others questions and very quickly agreeing to peace.

MorbidAngel has also apparently reached the above agreement with MasterSR and tried to discuss peace with Toaster-Strudel to try and save both families. The fight was deemed to be between Toaster-Strudel and MorbidAngel and neither family should intervene. Toaster-Strudel agreed to the terms set out and agreed to by both parties but then contradicted himself shortly thereafter.

Toaster-Strudel was asked by MorbidAngel to drop his crew and sell his headquarters after Toaster-Strudel admitted that he was not bothered about his own life. As a crew boss, his first thought should be to his family and keeping them alive and together. If he was not bothered about dying, his family should have been freed by the man who was not bothered about living to lead them. He then agreed to these terms, that he would drop his crew and sell up his headquarters as he was too busy to run his crew, and also was seen as some as an unfit leader as he would not put his family first and was disrespectful to his peers.

These terms were not met, and in fact they were flouted by Toaster-Strudel, who changed his mind about the agreement. He obviously did not inform his family of the agreement that he had made with MorbidAngel, as none of them seem to know why Toaster-Strudel was killed. The deeper reason was to protect his family from a man who was obviously not willing to honour the agreement he had made with MorbidAngel in front of two independent witnesses.

The peace agreement that was made between MorbidAngel and Mod, and also the one that was made with MasterSR and MorbidAngel are a step forward to peace. No one can stop the Underground from killing whomever they choose, and no one can expect MorbidAngels crew to sit by idly while others kill them. The Angels crew has orders not to fire on anyone, but anyone firing upon them will be brought to the attention of their boss, and the other crew boss will be informed, as per the agreements with Mod and MasterSR. The boss can then action the discipline themselves as per the agreement made this morning. This also works if any of the Angels crew steps out of line. If either of the bosses that has already made an agreement with MorbidAngel has any problem with any of his crew, he will be informed and deal out the discipline himself, rather than others taking it on themselves to punish his own family.

Those that have not been approached by MorbidAngel, or have not approached him with the same offer can expect the Angels not to fire upon them, but if fired upon, they will take a defensive action. MorbidAngel has already stated that he wants peace and has ordered his crew not to fire upon anyone without provocation. It is now up to those who choose to continue with the senseless killings to realise that any more deaths at the hands of MorbidAngel will be self-defence for him and his family as they defend themselves against the Underground and their supporters.

MorbidAngel is at the moment no threat to those who do not try to kill his family. However, if he is pushed into war again by those who cannot accept this fact, he will not hesitate to take up the baton again. Those who wish to keep waging a war on his family are endangering the whole community by their actions. People are making an effort to keep their families safe and secure, perhaps others should respect those who have made the decision to make peace with MorbidAngel and do likewise for the good of every living soul in our 5 cities. Everyone is placed in danger if MorbidAngel is forced to tear up the peace agreement he has already put in the streets.

I publicly offered to mediate between MorbidAngel and Mod to stop further bloodshed over something that turned out to be a misunderstanding. I will offer the same service to any crewleader who requires a neutral mediator in order to discuss peace or otherwise with MorbidAngel. I am completely impartial in these matters and will offer impartial advice to any who request it, whichever side they choose to sit on. Please message me if you wish to meet under impartial circumstances and a time will be arranged when all concerned are available.

Rumor Has It
by Xenos

Phillyites! Lock up your trash cans! Rumor has it FattyFats has been seen rummaging through garbage cans trying to dig up some more dirt on your fair city! What the f*$& is going on in Philly indeed!

The gossip gears are in a grind over this one! Rumor has it that a certain crew leader, that shall be unnamed, was seen sporting his ex Godmothers ball gown recently. Yes, I said his ladies and gentleman. Next thing you know Pharol will be painting his fingernails and asking you to call him Sally. Oh oops, did I say his name?

You may be just as confused by this one as we were! Rumor has it that Creep, Hound AND Stamina all wound up at JesseJames HQ on the same night last week! Maybe they should coordinate a schedule! It was said that all three were seen staggering away from the scene in the wee hours of the morning, walking kinda funny if you know what I mean! Nudge nudge wink wink!

Things have been kinda quiet in Las Vegas lately! Does this worry anyone besides me? Rumor has it that they are developing a plot to take over Delaware City and program those evil Durdens to become their puppets, then use them to work in their casinos! For free! Oh, wait... What... Excuse me a minute... *Whisperings heard.* Oh, my mistake folks, seems there are no casinos in Vegas to be found. Looks like Sin City isn't so sinful after all.

Rumor has it that doogle is preparing a group of security guards to patrol funerals. He wants to keep away those pesky member whorers!! How dare they desecrate funerals in that manner! Fight the power! Maybe he can put those damn Durdens to work, since Vegas obviously has no use for them!! I salute thee, Mr. doogle, for your efforts!

Here's a shocker! Rumor has it that BigBlackMan, is neither big nor black. That's right folks! You heard it here! BigBlackMan is actually a SmallWhiteMan and... We're even a bit confused on the man part as it seems he's been seen perusing the female section at the local department store.

Very amusing piece by Xenos, however when I saw FattyFats rooting through bins, I didn't see anything that differed from his normal activity.

Incidentally, regarding silence is golden - perhaps for the next issue you could explore the business districts, not only in terms of how active Leaders are there, but which cities are thriving most!

Finally something to digest while waiting for the heat to die down long enough to rob another post office.

Keep up the good work.
