Hello everyone and welcome to the announcement post of the next event.
Please read carefully if you want to have the best result at the event on May 18th and 19th
Rounds will periodically happen across the two days based on my availability (I will try my best to make it balanced and fair and give as much heads up about start of round times as possible).
A round will consist of 4 key activities which I will detail below
1) The Qualifier - A mini game of chance or skill will be played to establish a order in which players will get a chance to accept the deal(s) presented. In the qualifier your placement will give you a base amount of points which then you will be bribed with things you can trade those points in for in activity 3.
2) The Prize Item - If you are in the first 5 people to successfully present a picture of some obscure item based on the qualifications I will list later in this post you will outright win a fixed point amount.
3) The Trade in Phase - Starting with the player who finished first in the qualifier round you will be given the chance to trade your winnings from the qualifier game in in order to accept a different hidden prize (like the game show I am stealing this idea from) The prizes can vary from Full loss of your points for the round, a slight loss but still come out with something, break even or win extra points to varying degrees. Additionally there may be hints during the round itself that might lead you in the right direction.
4) The reveal Phase - We person by person reveal what their choice won or lost them and then note the final results for the round and I will set the time for the next round (hopefully)
How to prepare for the prize item activity:
I will ask for a random item on irc. If you can show me a item that meets all of the following requirements within the first 5 people or a 5 minute time limit you win a pool of points based on the difficulty of the item.
What are the criteria:
1) The picture must be in the irl space (no ai, no digital art, no photoshop)
2) The picture must contain a piece of paper with your game name and a date time that you took the picture on.
3) The picture may be taken from the time you are reading this post right up to the deadline to submit it when it is asked for
As per always this will take place on main in irc
the qualifying activities will be determined as needed during the event, so you will not have time to prep and don't ask me what they are because I don't even know yet XD, but there will be some skill games and some random chance games.
And as always the total prize pool will be dependent on overall participation levels for the event (more people spending more time = more prizes for everyone) and the points will be assigned a trade in value at the end of the event accordingly. If there is enough demand I will bring back the points for perks program (while supplies last)
