What had once been a prominent, stately looking Roman Catholic church on the east end of Hollywood Boulevard had been abandoned for more than two decades. It seemed that Hollywood had begun to worship in other places some time ago- places like movie theaters, dance halls, and smokey night clubs. So the old brick building with its towering height and distinctive flying buttresses would need a new purpose to have new life breathed into its walls.

This would be accomplished by a man with a vision for the building that was far different from its original purpose. However, the size and solid structure of the red brick building was perfect for the installation of the brewing equipment, with plenty of room left over for the rest of the work. Only six months after the construction began, the last contracted worker drilled the last screw into the sign on the wall of the old church- now reborn as The Blackhand Brewery.

The grand-opening event was invite only, as the brewery itself would not be open to the public. Emerging from the newly remodeled building, which still retained much of its original look of a church (much to the amusement of its new owner), BlueKing looked proudly over the gathered crowd as he held the door for Ivy, who joined him on the landing of the steps. When the crowd had quieted, BlueKing stepped forward and gestured outward with both hands.

"It's an honor to have you all here today to witness the opening of Blackhand Brewery. Behind the walls of this historic old building, we have plans in place to make history of our own. Only our history won't be recorded by monks and priests; but will probably be enjoyed by plenty of them."

There was a wave of chuckles from the crowd before BlueKing continued.

"Of course, I cannot go any further without thanking Ivy for giving me this opportunity. It is an honor to be entrusted with a portion of this great city, and a part of the glittering streets of Hollywood with which to start a new venture. Ivy, as always, you have my loyalty and respect, and my thanks.

Now- for the first...and last time, I welcome you all into The Blackhand Brewery for a complimentary tasting of our first craft offerings, and we'll raise a glass to prosperity for all of Los Angeles!"

With that, BlueKing again opened the doors, allowed Ivy inside ahead of himself, the followed to begin greeting his guests.
