I'll try to have as little "OOCitis" as possible with my response here.

I feel that the entire concept of whoring members mostly comes down to how long your bloodline has been walking these streets.  Those that can remember a time when you step off the boat, you had to look out for yourself, and take initiative to search out a crew and ask for permission to work for that crew might feel that any solicitation whatsoever would be considered member whoring.  Those that have been here for less time would have different views on member whoring, in my humble opinion.  

To me just sending an invitation without even talking to the person is the worst form of member whoring possible.  Followed closely by attempting to scare them into your crew with a "Hey man, you better get in a crew fast man, they'll kill ya.  I'll send an invite."  or some variation.  Bottom line is, we are all gonna have our own views and opinions on this matter.  I think the best we can do is teach those with the power to sponsor that their selections actions or lack of, reflects on them as made members of this thing of ours.  And remember not everyone was born into the life of crime so you may need to nurture your recruit to see he or she is a success, but I'm going off topic now, sooo yeah.

Now, I know a lot of people might critisize the speaker at times, "yeah, yeah, whoring, we talk about it all the time, blah blah blah"  but I think it's important to hear what is going on and how people feel about the concept every now and again.  Not everyone was around for the last discussion.

there is but 1 person in my family i whored and thats my RHM donmorrison. Other than that, EVERYONE in my family came here of their own free will.  They joined the akatsuki without being extended an invite first.

However, just because people (young or old) come to you, accepting them as a member just on their wanting to be in your family is whoring too as far as im concerned.

I had a new member to these shores comes to me earlier this evening, asking how he should go about getting an invite into my organisation. I told him that many would contact them in their first day to get them to join their family. I asked a sponsor to send this person an invite and after i told that person the invite isn't going anywhere, it will stay till he decided to accept or decline and pressed further stating with the laws of the land being what they are, they have 48 hours to find a good partnership with someone, build a raport and gets some chemistry going. After all, people who are new to these lands may be wide eyed and under the impression just cos the russian/japanese/sicilian mafia their own personal blood line may know have a high turn over... it's not the way we do things here where the mafia has returned.

It's useless having people in your family if they dont enjoy themselves there. So for me, 'whoring' members is taking on anyone you wouldn't speak to in the coffee shop or HQ like a friend. I dont want subordinates, I want a family.
