Frank was sitting in his office when the question crossed his mind why do we choose this life?

Ever since Frank was a young boy comming from italy moving to the tough streets of New Orleans this life was what he grew up with his uncle and father sitting in his dads study and every Sunday the police chief would come pissed off but by the time he came out he had a smile and a noticably larger wallet.

Frank always asked his father what he did but he was always told

You will know when your older Frank.

The time came when he was older when his father taught him about Cosa Nostra and what it mean frank then became an associate of the family he learnt quick and always earned ood comming up with great schemes but frank didnt want to be small time he wanted it big.

Frank started doing hits for the boss it was fun anyone who needed to be taken care of Frank did it, Frank even got five years in the can but continued to do hits he took the rats out for the boss and when he got out he was rewarded

Frank was made a capo in the family it was an honor for him

As frank continued in his life he remembered the greatest moment becoming the boss by whacking the boss

He remembered sitting in the car as the boss entered and looked over it took only for pulls of the trigger and by the time the fourth bullet hit the boss was dead, Frank had everything he ever wanted Money Power Respect

It had been a few years since he took over as boss but Frank remembered it as if it were yesterday

Frank smiled but as he looked over at his desk his happiness soon turned to tears and sadness he was looking at the picture of his wife

His dear Marie he still remembers her long hair the taste of their last kiss all the joy she had given him those bullets werent meant for her he was the one supposed to die she had nothing to do with this.

As frank thought i have everything but is it worth it losing my wife being able to lose everything in the blink of an eye always having to watch your back for the guy wanting to make it big preparing your funeral

Before Leaving his office Frank asked himself outloud

There are many things in this life that seem wrong something, but... She looks at all those in the city she calls family. Its all those we surround ourselves with that make it worth it. She smiles big and and then lights a smoke.

Don't forget that.

Thank you for sharing Frank. From outsiders, it may seem as if we are crazy to choose this life. But from those of us that choose it, we understand that decision. We have been there and while our children may watch us now and say, "I'll never be that, I'll never do that, I'll never choose that life," when the time comes, they will see that it is in their blood to choose this life, because there are people that have become as important to them as their very own blood relatives.
