The sweat ran down Cuboyd's brow. It wasn't supposed to go down like this, not at all. Bullets whizzed passed his occupied head as he tried to figure how the fuck it all went downhill so quickly but more so, how to get the fuck out of it. The money was all there and accounted for, not a dollar bill dropped. Cuboyd looked at Furio, Hugh and Seamus. Every man fighting for each others lives. He looked at Furio and it came to him, he had a plan and it just might work. He crawled across the broken glass and flipped over tables, making his way towards the team but his enthusiasm sharply dropped when he heard a shotgun being reloaded from behind him... 1 Week Earlier..Money was never enough, no. It now became more about power, the thrill, the adrenaline rush. Money could be put in a bank and be saved for years, but it could never buy the rush of committing a crime, especially one big enough to need a plan. Yeah sure, knocking a post office over or picking locks was great, but the rush always wore off. It became an intense addiction. One shared thoroughly by Furio, enough for the pair to set a meeting to plan something big. Something that quenched the thirst of adrenaline as well as making some money on the side. The meeting was set to take place in Bricktown Boogey, Cuboyd's nightclub in Detroit. The same venue Furio approached Cuboyd in the first place. Cuboyd would already be there for work and sort out the legal business first of all but from 9pm onwards, there would be absolutely nothing legal about the discussions that would take place. Time flew for Cuboyd that night. He had all but finished his legal work when the door of his office was knocked. He checked his pocket watch. 8:55pm. Evidently, Furio couldn't wait either. It was a big bonus, someone that wants the same as you, someone that knows it's about more than the money. A real criminal. Furio entered the office and walked over to where Cuboyd was now standing with two glasses of whiskey in hand... |

Furio took the drink from Cuboyd. He took a quick sip to steady himself. The excitement was almost too much. "This job is fuckin' huge. I'm talkin' seven figures huge." Furio could see that Cuboyd's interest had been well and truly piqued, love of the crime was one thing but bigger rewards made it even sweeter. "My guy at Detroit Savings Bank says they are moving loads of cash in so General Motors can upgrade their factory in Flint. They 'ave payroll, investment money, materials money. The cash is arriving next Friday. We 'it the bank over the weekend, take the money, huge fuckin' score." Furio gesticulated with his hands stretched out trying to impress the size of the score. He drank down the rest of his whisky. The warm feeling it provided was nothing to compared to the feeling he'd get from swimming in actual money. "Now obviously, this isn't my territory and we can't do this alone, we're going to need help. Good people we can trust, and I am hoping you can help me out with that? Once we have an idea of our crew we can figure out how we get the money. I've sent one of my union guys down to City Hall to pull a copy of the plans, hopefully that should help. Any ideas on who we call for the job?" |

Cuboyd loved what he was hearing. The fire in his belly was roaring with the prospect itself, let alone the several glasses of whiskey he had to ignite it further. His head seen dollar signs, his heart spotted chaos. The perfect cocktail. It's always great when both the head and heart can get on board with something like this, makes everything that bit easier. Cuboyd just about managed to scrape himself back off the ceiling before turning back to Furio. "Seven figures eh? Man that rolls off the tongue well." Cuboyd grinned. "Yeah I know just the guys that could help us with this. I'm sure you'll have seen a few of them around before. First up we've got Seamus - one of the most feared mobsters in this fine city. As dangerous as he is handsome. He's the kinda guy you want to have your back when shit goes south and with a score like this, you can bet your ass something will go south." Cuboyd paused for a sip of his whiskey before continuing. "Next up we've got Hugh - man this guy is smart. You'll have seen him before, do you know how much he makes every month with that damn Laundromat he owns in the Bronx? His money comes out cleaner than your Grandma's kitchen. Yeah these are the guys we want to have with us. Quick-thinking, innovate motherfuckers with as much of a taste for trouble as you and I both. Cuboyd made his way up to the bar in his office to refill both his and Furio's glasses. There would be plenty to drink to tonight. He whistled while he poured as though the job had already been complete and the money firmly in his grasp. Hell, who wouldn't have a spring in their step after hearing about an opportunity like this? Cuboyd landed Furio's glass back in front of him as he toasted to the air. The pair drank before Cuboyd quizzed Furio. "So your guy in Detroit Savings Bank, sure he'll be trustworthy but I bet he'll be looking for a nice score himself. How much does he want to be cut in for?" |

Seamus had been summons to visit Bricktown Boogie for a meeting. He walked in and noticed that Cuboyd and Furio had been sitting down drinking. Seamus walked over and took his jacket off before placing it on the back of the chair. "Mind if I have a seat?" He smiled. Seamus sat down and ordered a drink. "Let me get a whiskey on the rocks, Please?" he asked Seamus wasn't a hundred percent sure what this meeting was about or what he was about to get himself into, but with his friends by his side, he was willing to take on anything. "So, why am I here?" he asked as he took a swig of his whiskey. |

“Ah Seamus, good of you to come down on such short notice. Boy have we got a job for you.” Cuboyd walked up to Seamus and shook his hand before inviting him to sit down and fetch him his requested whiskey on the rocks. Furio got up to shake Seamus’ hand too before the three of them toasted their drinks. Just as the three were about to sit down, Sonny, Cuboyd’s Head of Security for the Bricktown Boogey nightclub knocked the door and signalled for Cuboyd to follow. “Listen gents I’m gonna have to pop out for a few minutes here, club business as per usual. Seamus I’m gonna let Furio bring you up to speed with everything going on. Hugh should be here any minute now too so if you’d rather wait for him then please help yourself to as much drinks as you wish.” Cuboyd directed before following Sonny out the office door. |
