The Sun was shining, the sun always shines in Los Angeles. That’s one thing Jimmy couldn’t get used to, the heat. He wasn’t made for this heat, being born in New York, and spending his whole adult life there working for his Uncle Joe. He knew when the whole Ligambi operation moved west, it was going to be some tough work, but he didn’t count on the heat being the main enemy. 

Uncle Joe hit the ground running once they landed in LA, first setting up a casino, some businesses to funnel drugs through and various bars and hotels which could be used to plan bigger crimes in the future. Jimmy knew his Uncle Joe eventually be on top in LA he just didn’t think it would come this quickly.  The LA Police, the Mayor and the heads of the other families, the ones here in LA, and those back east in NY, recognised Joe as the true leader of Los Angeles now, bestowing upon him the title of Godfather. 

It came as no surprise to Jimmy that another family would need to be created to guide and teach the influx of new mobsters coming out to LA to try and make their name, but what did come as a surprise was when Joe asked him to head up the new operation. 

“It’s truly an honour you ask of me, Uncle. It’s because of you I’m in this thing of us. You help raise me after the death of my father. You were the one that proposed me for membership when the books opened in New York. You were there when we had the ceremony, the pricking of the finger, the burning of the Saint, and by hell, you even paid for the party we had afterwards. And now to be the head of my own family, out here in LA, under the Ligambi name, I can’t thank you enough.”

Jimmy knew he had to get to work, straight away, as that was the high standard his Uncle Joe had come to expect of him.
