I sat down with DeadlySpike today, to discuss recent events.  Enjoy.

 Ronnie Van Zant -  good evening

 Spike -  Good. I was hoping you'd be early.

 Ronnie Van Zant -  I aim to please

 Ronnie Van Zant -  A brief overview before we start. LongLeggedLarry murdered your father and some others, but failed in his overall attempt at seizing power. You and your friends are running things, albeit in a society with a number of issues to be faced down. It is against this backdrop that this interview will take place

 Ronnie Van Zant -  Anything you'd like to say before we start?

 Spike -  No, I think we can proceed.

 Ronnie Van Zant -  OK, if I can ask a question pertinent to myself before getting onto macro topics, when do you think you'll kill me?

 Spike -  In your ancestry, it tends to be if you take things too far.

 Spike -  Or if someone gets fed up.

 Ronnie Van Zant -  Agreed, but I think I'm behaving better, and being received with a degree of humour and understanding. Perhaps because of my support during the war. But let's get onto serious matters.

 Ronnie Van Zant -  Describe the arc of your relationship with the Transistor lineage, please

 Spike -  I had known his lineage a bit over the years. But I had never interacted that much. At some point last year, Remy, a close friend of mine, brought him in, and wanted him to be included in things. I obliged. Over time, I did have concerns that some of his lineage's outside relationships may become a problem. However, this is not why Transistor had died in the spring exactly. At some point, he began hounding against the great Godmother Music of Detroit. He was very upset one day and messaged me because somehow when RBM stepped down, you had ended up in her crew. He questioned her intelligence to me, and I didn't really respond much.

 Spike -  That night, I fell asleep early and was awoken to a phonecall that Transistor had convinced Remy to kill DT. Parenthetically, Transistor was desperately trying to get his friend Alexa Godfather somewhere. I did not like the idea of wiping Music because she had only done right by us. However, it seemed that by that Monday, things had already progressed too far.

 Ronnie Van Zant -  So Transistor was a man of keen ambition, but poor diplomatic and political skills?

 Spike -  That Monday night. He got very upset because no one was around, and to our surprise, he had already built a war doc against her, without talking to anyone. Further, he had his guns waiting around.

 Spike -  Yes, that's one way to take it.

 Ronnie Van Zant -  What could have happened had he maintained a cooler head?

 Spike -  So, when we all finally discussed moving forward with what he wanted, he had illuded to wanting to trash Music in a thread... To which he was later told that I would be the one to do the final edit... He did not like this... After Music was dead, I did the edit, and he began to bemoan to Remy and JTG about this.

 Spike -  If he had been cool, he would not have died.

 Ronnie Van Zant -  And when his son returned, what happened?

 Spike -  My understanding is that he had said some things about how going forward he would need to be the one making the decisions... Other things were said... Bitched about me etc. Everyone was uncomfortable that he was behaving this after he was getting what he wanted (dead Music, GF Alexa, etc.). So he was a liability that was removed.

 Spike -  We talked to him a lot. Tried to welcome him back in. He apologized.

 Spike -  *behaving this way

 Ronnie Van Zant -  Which brings us to LongLeggedLarry... Was he under suspicion?

 Spike -  No.

 Ronnie Van Zant -  So he was a man in good standing, who could have had a solid career ahead of him?

 Spike -  Yes

 Spike -  He would not have been allowed the rank of GFC if we did not trust him.

 Ronnie Van Zant -  Why do you think he made the move that he did?

 Spike -  Underneath it all, he had a rage boiling. I've seen it in his interactions with you and about you, that obsession. He has an issue of ego, and I guess that perhaps as Transistor, he had good intentions (other than some of that behavior I described), but after he was killed, his son had other plans, bad intentions, revenge, because his ego could nothandle that he had done something wrong or that he was somehow bested. So, he did exactly what we were concerned about with his associations or adjacent associations to "curse-words" and otherwise. He took them in to have them kill us to satisfy his insecurity. But I again say, he was under no threat from us, and we did our best to make him feel like he was one of us. He may not have been able to believe this, but we are not always bastards and we do like having friends.

 Ronnie Van Zant -  What did he say about my lineage?

 Spike -  To be honest, I tuned a lot of it out. He was obsessed over  million dollars for that witness statement or whatever. I didn't understand why he was chasing it so hard... At first, I thought he was doing it for fun or to troll, but later it became clear he was obsessed about it. He couldn't let it go.

 Spike -  In many ways, you can consider that if he hadn't been so obsessed with your lineage... Transistor would not have died.

 Ronnie Van Zant -  could you expand on that, please?

 Spike -  Because that is what lead him to push to kill Music... The fact that you were in her HQ for an hour or two.

 Ronnie Van Zant -  What is your understanding of the m he talked about?

 Spike -  I really didn't pay much attention... I believe he shot an account himself and tried to turn in the witness statement when you offered up mil for it.

 Spike -  Please correct me if I'm wrong.

 Ronnie Van Zant -  that's pretty much it, except he pursued it down probably eight bloodlines. Which really goes against the grain of this thing of ours. But I think, and I'd be interested in your thoughts, that he made himself look rather pathetic

 Spike -  At least eight.

 Ronnie Van Zant -  What do you think LongLeggedLarry's legacy will be?

 Spike -  I think that some "curse-words" will praise him, and that many others will shun him. Such is MR.

 Spike -  He got his chance in the sunshine.

 Ronnie Van Zant -  Well, I don't think anyone is beyond redemption

 Spike -  Perhaps so.

 Ronnie Van Zant -  What do you admire most about the Goku lineage?

 Spike -  He can build (not that it's really a skill nowadays). He has a decent number of loyalists. He can motivate people. I am glad to see him around.

 Ronnie Van Zant -  and what do you find objectionable his lineage?

 Spike -  He takes things a bit too personally (even years later) and has to resort to ad hominem when he is frustrated.

 Spike -  This is a strategy game after all. Command and conquer.

 Spike -  Chess... Go... Risk... whatever you fancy.

 Ronnie Van Zant -  is there any lineage you'd refuse to do business with?

 Spike -  Yes, there are a few, as there are many who would not do business with me.

 Ronnie Van Zant -  Some people may be surprised at my having been auth'd. Can you please discuss this, and your broader plans for this thing of ours?

 Spike -  You will be leading Detroit next to the current container crew. We will rebuild the cities, including Chicago with DeadlySin heading it up. The hope is that after we finally had someone try to make a real coup, there will be much more life in this thing of ours, which is why I am so pleased our attackers did so. There's no fun in having an enemy fall asleep.

 Ronnie Van Zant -  Tell me about what your approach to this thing of ours? What makes you tick? Some enjoy killing, others talking, others making money. What makes and keeps you motivated?

 Spike -  I enjoy my friends. I enjoy keeping my friends happy. To do that, I must execute those who threaten me or my friends (though I rarely ever have a problem dying myself, as I do so often). I enjoy having enemies, and I enjoy them losing.

 Ronnie Van Zant -  I don't really recall our paths having crossed much. It is interesting to make your acquaintance. Was I "vouched" for by anyone?

 Spike -  Some people have said positive things.

 Spike -  I wouldn't say "Vouched"

 Ronnie Van Zant -  What's your message to those in this thing of ours who are struggling to see beyond the current rebuild era that we are in?

 Spike -  The sun'll come out tomorrow.
