What is the weirdest thought you ever had? Started by: Benito_Amilcare on Sep 18, '24 12:36

Heya all, it ya boi.

I don't know if this existed already somewhere buried deep, but as the subject states: "What is the weirdest thought you ever had?"

I will start with an example. A different version of you exists in the minds of everyone who knows you. Basically who You are as a person literally depends on the subjective view of people around you. Basically every instance of yourself is a Universe on its own because every instance of yourself exists in someone else's subjective view of you.

Never had a weird thought in my life. Similar to what you have stated about each person having a different opinion of you. Every thought I have is my normal the same as every thought you have is your normal. It only becomes weird if you allow others opinions to influence you.

I don't think we are on the same page. It is not about thinking what others think about you, just you, as a person, exist in a mind of every other person that ever met you and they are all different "persons" so to say.

You as a persona, in my mind, right now exist as XXX while if you ask another player he can say "I think he is YYY person" our opinion does not matter, as we re just discussing how do we perceive you as a person and everyone has different one, thus, ergo, you exist as a different person to everyone.

Ok, since you brought it up: what are we, really? Are we a sum of the perceptions that others have about us? Or are we what we believe we are? At the end of the day, only we know ourselves deeply and are with ourselves all the time. But even so, what does it matter? My existence depends heavily on the perception of others around me, correct?

Well, I just had a weird thought after reading this thread.

The weirdest thought I ever had was this:

If an extraterrestrial being died and it's body managed to land on earth, would scavenger animals eat the corpse? They eat dead things, sure; but would they eat a dead thing that was wholly unfamiliar to them?

it all depends on what ye see as weird ey, i once saw a guy eat his own fingernails... he was on some weird african snow like blow ye feel

We do not know/understand what gravity actually is. Another fun/weird thought, basically, we do not know what gravity is in any fundamental way, we only know how it behaves. Force of attraction that exists between any two masses, bodies or particles, but other than that, we have no idea what it is and why is it working the way it is.

I would like to thank Cyraxxx for starting this interesting discussion. I suppose, in a way, we are all several different people, depending on who you ask. I didn't expect the discussion to be philosophical in nature, so I had a much less complicated thought to bring up. I always thought Ant Man could have killed Thanos easily by shrinking down to a tiny size, crawling up Thanos' butt, and then clicking the button to get giant size. How are you going to rain fire on that, Thanos???

Weirdest thought I ever had? It would be one of the countless ones I didn’t ask for. The brain is a crazy thing. It’ll post a thought in your head that’s totally depraved or surreal or sick or disturbing, then immediately post another thought condemning you for having the previous one. You didn’t ask for either neither are you.

My thoughts are so varied I am not sure if any of them are weird.
Because in my mind they seem to work....not sure if my mind is normal however.
Who is to say what is normal or for that matter who's to say what is weird....we all think different.

When you buy a bottle of milk from the shop do you ever stop and think how many different cows have contributed?

I just had a thought wondering if Benito Amilcare is Jack Slack of the Jack Slack Podcast. I don't know if it's the weirdest thought, but it's probably up there.

Honestly I can't remember half of the weird thoughts I have.  The best part is when I say them out loud, it happens a lot.

I talk so little using my voice but in my head I dont stop,I hear my own voice while Im thinking. So do other people hear themself while they are thinking or is it just us who do not talk much? Ivve asked people who talk non stop do they hear there own voice while they think and some said yes but most said no. And do people that talk non stop say everything they think and if they do does that makes me deceitful, cus I do not say 5% of what Im thinking.

I don't think it was a weird thought but a slightly depressing thought. I have thought that sometimes no matter what I do to help others in their time of need, it is rarely returned and if it was not to the same extant that I put in. I am finding especially in recent years that I put others needs before mine and I need to change.

If the first law of thermodynamics is true, then when something dies then that matter/energy cycles. So reincarnation is not only possible but probable but may be not in human form. We could be stardust for a while, who knows. Then I think, what are the chances we get recycled into another living thing?

Weirdest thought I ever had was ,I wondered if the Queen of England had someone who how can I put it …. Helped her when she had been to the toilet or did she clean herself up as an average joe would do lol .

How many stories lay unwritten? How many pens hit paper but persevered only a page, if not a few sentences? While humankind has vast libraries and troves of information, I can only hope to grasp a glimpse at the unfathomable depth of evaporated knowledge and thought.

Free will versus Determinism?

Every cause and effect goes back to the beginning of the universe, so, are our decision really ours?

In a deterministic universe, every choice might be the product of prior events, so the idea of free will comes to question.
