As native Floridian I have experienced some of the worst storms. I was around for the 2004 season when me and my buddies mostly partied. Now mind you, we didn't live in the middle of the state... no we lived walking distance to the beach. In fact we walked to the beach during the height some of those storms.
Recently the past 5 or 6 years or so, I've seen my state get hit by countless major hurricanes. Some of which I've even taken a direct hit from, ie Irma. Of which I sat on my back porch, got drunk af and played MR. Then had to go to work drunk, with no sleep as the eye hit us.
We will survive. Florida man is Florida man for a reason. Yes we have a plan and prep for these storms, but as the saying goes, "everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth." If mother nature and God decide this is my time, then that's it. So might as well party and hope for the best.
