The year had gone by very quickly and the days were becoming shorter and shorter. It was the beginning of autumn in the windy city and Beef had begun to feel it. He went from grand seventy degree days just a few weeks ago to needing a winter jacket and a hat just to stroll around downtown Chicago.

He looked at his calendar and saw it was the twenty fifth of October, soon everyone would be trying out their favorite costumes for Halloween. While ole’ Beef wasn’t particular towards Halloween, he loved seeing how happy everyone, rich and poor, could be from such a simple holiday. He also knew there were some slight benefits to this time of the year that he would most certainly use.

He knew there would be a large community costume party later towards the night within the city, thousands of children, teenagers and adults would show off their scary and nifty costumes to a panel of judges and winners would be crowned. Beef had decided to visit a store that sold costumes just a few blocks away from his apartment within the city and walked in. He saw some basic costumes, but he saw what he really wanted, a gorilla mask. He bought four of them and some costumes.

He called three of his friends who were also bodyguards of his over, saying they would be doing a rather daring robbery tonight. Beef had planned out that a local bank was low on security and very lax due to the holiday season. Plenty of people walked around in costume due to the costume party just a few blocks over, so Beef devised a plan where he and his guys would wear these costumes as disguises when hitting this bank. After that, they’d drop the costumes while in the crowd of people and would be all but invisible to any police response.

They had gone over how it would be done, no cars, just four people, all coming in from different areas simultaneously while wearing their gorilla costumes. The bank tellers and staff would most likely think it to be some kind of joke, but they had come prepared with their CZ52 pistols. They had them hidden in the fur of their silly costumes. After they all knew their role, they headed out. 

Beef was the first man to the bank and began the process. Walking in with his costume on, several bank tellers began complimenting his costume. Beef truly felt like he chose the right Halloween costume for the job. As they all congregated in one area, another one of his accomplices ran in, also in a gorilla costume, and began shouting and waving his weapon around. It was then that Beef jumped over the counter, already knowing who the bank manager was, while relying on his costumed up gorilla buddies to do crowd control, grabbed the manager and headed towards the vault. It wasn’t long before the man was cracking the vault open to Beef’s surprise. He ordered the man to quickly throw the, what looked like tens of thousands of dollars, into the banana colored bag. After it was done, he quickly ran out of the lobby with his accomplices and gave the gorillas the sign to leave. The four men would quickly find their way into the crowd of hundreds just a few blocks away and quietly discarded their costumes.

Beef had counted the money in a circle while they all watched. One of them quipped that it reminded them of trick or treating when they were a child and their brother combined the candy and split it out. They all laughed at it, since for everyone there, it was something they all felt they could relate to. After finishing the count, it looked like the gorilla heist amounted to about twelve thousand. Beef had split the money equally and made sure everyone was happy with their take. “Happy Halloween guys, I wouldn’t open your doors to anyone wearing a gorilla costume this year though” He said as he laughed and everyone left his apartment.
