Angelo wandered around Corktown looking for an ideal location for his new shipping and storage facility. He loved Corktown as it was the 9th largest city in America, not only home to the auto industry, and produced metal crafts, railcars, stove works, paints, iron, brass, and copper. After a few hours of looking, he decided to stop and get a coffee. As he waited to be served, he overheard one of the other patrons mention an old abandoned warehouse on Michigan Avenue. He decided to check it out. Angelo decided to walk there since it was a nice day and he wasn't very far. After a few min, he arrived and was amazed at what he found. The warehouse was three stories tall and sat facing the downtown core with the Detroit River behind it. He sent his second-in-command Corvo to city hall with some money to purchase the building and the permits needed to renovate while he stepped inside to explore. As he walked through the bottom floor, he found that it was a massive space with almost 15,000 square feet not counting the second or third floors. Angelo walked to the back and noticed that two massive steel doors rolled away from each other and led to a rotten wooden dock on the Detroit River. He thought this is perfect as I could use the river to smuggle goods into Canada and link of with some of my other warehouses there. He then walked back inside and went to check out the second and third floors. The second and third floors were not as big about 5000 square feet each. Angelo thought, "I'll turn the front part of the second floor into a suite of offices with a lounge area/breakroom in the back with coffee machines and a small snack/breakfast bar for my legitimate operations and employees. On the third floor, I will turn into a private suite with bedrooms for my bodyguards, myself, an armory, and an office where I will run my smuggling operations. Once Corvo returned with the deed and the permit, he got to renovating. First, he contacted some union guys he knew to gut the place and reinforce the main structure then he started on the main floor. He left the back 14000 square space open with some steel stairs along the side wall to reach the second and third floors. In addition, he added a paved driveway with plenty of parking in front of the building with spots along the side for his crew's vehicles. The front 1000 he separated with a brick wall and a steel door. In front of the steel door, was a receptionist area with a desk for a few employees, some seating for potential customers to wait until the person they had to meet was ready for them, a bathroom, and a water/coffee area. He also added new front doors and windows with bulletproof glass. The second and third floors turned out exactly as he thought. The front part of the second floor was turned into a suite of offices with a lounge area/breakroom in the back with coffee machines and a small snack/breakfast bar while the third floor was turned into a private suite with bedrooms for bodyguards, Angelo, an armory, and an office. As he sat in his new office admiring how everything turned out, Angelo thought "This turned out great, can't wait for the first customers of Corleone Shipping & Storage to arrive. |

Angelo was concerned. It had been a month since he opened Corleone Shipping & Storage and he had few customers. Besides the deal waiting with Nuccio at Ligambi Logistics and a few minor weapon and drug deals, he hadn't made much money. All his money was from illegal deals. He needed to bring in some more legitimate revenue. He called Corvo and asked him to meet him in the office. When Corvo arrived and sat down, Angelo got down to business. "Corvo, we have a problem. Besides a few deals, we have made very little legitimate revenue. How do we fix this?" Corvo replied, "I have an idea. We have that storefront in the front of the warehouse so why don't we turn it into a legitimate store? We'll stick with general goods like canned goods, sewing supplies, basic clothing, some hunting gear and guns, and some furniture antique and modern. When things are sold, we can use those funds to clean our weapons and drug money." Angelo thought it over and replied, "Get it done yesterday." Corvo nodded and went to make some calls to some trusted men to fulfill his boss's latest orders. |

Angelo grinned back at SilentAssassin and agreed. He looked around and said, "SA, I know your tastes from my cousin Corvo so I'm proposing you take 10 rifles, 15 Tommy guns with custom grips, and about 100 rounds of ammo for each. Just invite me when you are planning your next heist or assassination. As a gift and to celebrate the long years of business between our families, I am offering you this Rolls Royce Phantom I for $7500. It's clean btw. It retails for $12,900. What do you say?" |

I said what the fuck I might as well go over to Angelo_Corleone ‘s Shipping & Storage in style so I let Dennis drive me there in one of the limousines. As eyes followed me I walked to the receptionist, told her my name, and wished to speak to Mr. Corleone. She dialed an extension and talked to someone they told her to bring me up for she escorted me to a large suite on the third floor where a very distinguished-looking Angelo_Corleone approached, introduced himself, invited me into his office, offered me a seat then asked me how could he help me. The office reeked of cheap cigars and engine grease. A single oil-filled heater buzzed in the corner of the room, barely managing to take the edge off of the cold November chill. Ganymede sat opposite Angelo Corleone, the wiry, sharp-featured owner of Corleone Shipping and Storage staring emotionless from across a battered steel desk, Ganymede nodded respectfully at Angelo, his immense bulk making the chair beneath him groan from the slight jarring movement of Ganymede’s colossal neck. Beside Ganymede was Tony Giovanacci, his long time friend and associate, standing nervously chewing a toothpick. Angelo Corleone smirked as he placed a glass of bourbon in front of Ganymede. “So, Gany, it’s been a while since we did business… I hear you want me to move a couple tons of your ‘special freight’ to Chicago. But let’s be honest. - you ain’t here to talk shipping rates, are ya?” Ganymede chuckled, the sound deep and menacing. He picked up the glass, swirling the amber liquid. “Angelo, let’s cut to the chase. You and I both know that moving product like mine needs a certain... finesse. Cops, customs, goons out to make a name for themselves - they’re all potential problems. What I need is someone on the shipping side who knows how to make those problems disappear.” Corleone leaned forward, his grin widening. “Disappearing problems is my specialty. But the kind of heat this shipment might bring? That don’t come cheap.” Ganymede placed his glass down with a deliberate thud. “You’ll get your cut. Ten percent of the street value. That’s enough to retire, Angelo. But only if it gets there on time and intact. Think you can handle that?” Corleone’s smirk faltered for a moment before he nodded. “Alright, Gany. You’ve got yourself a deal. But I’ll need to know how you want this done - quiet or fast?” Ganymede glanced at Tony, who piped up, “Quiet. If this shipment gets flagged, we’re all sunk. We got too many eyes on us in Detroit as it is. That’s why we need you.” “Quiet it is,” Corleone said, pulling a notepad from his desk drawer. “I’ll put the crates in the middle of a shipment of auto parts. Customs loves the auto industry, especially here in Detroit. They’ll never think to look twice.” “And the route?” Ganymede asked. Corleone scribbled something on the notepad, then passed it across the desk. “We’ll take it through Indiana, avoiding the main highways. Couple of my boys’ll run interference - truck breakdowns, fake detours, that sort of thing. By the time anyone realises something’s up, the shipment’ll be halfway to Chicago.” Ganymede studied the route, nodding approvingly. “Good. I’ll have my guys waiting at Warehouse #14 to unload. And Angelo - if anything happens to this shipment, I’m holding you responsible.” Corleone’s smirk returned, though it didn’t quite reach his eyes. “Relax, Gany. Nobody’s touching this load.” |
