I will go down with this ship. Started by: Jessie_Pinkman on Jan 25, '12 09:45

Emilio making his rounds in the streets, hears some others speaking of Loyalty, and has to put his 2 cents in.

There have been many good points here.  And to be absolutly honest, they are all excellent points, and I do say I have to agree with most of them if not all.  And I have noticed there is only two sides to this debate, which only a few have agreed to both.  There are always those who absolutly deserve respect and loyalty, and those who don't deserve AS MUCH of it.  My theory is everyone deserves some respect, for they are just people, men and women like the rest of us.  Everyone is going to have their problems, and not everyone realizes it.  So you have to give them some respect for the fact they are trying.  And you have to give your family members some loyalty, not necessarily everyone in the world, but especially to family members.  Until they actually show you loyalty back as well, you can't give them one hundred percent of your loyalty, but at least half of it.  And as for the leaders being the responible ones for making things fun and all that, well thats not true in my opinion, the leader isn't the leader, but the family as a whole is.  I mean to say that decisions can't be made by one person, if that was the case there would be war everyday, and people would be dieing left and right.  No, simply a family has to work together and lead each other.  I ask questions from members in my family when I need them, and when presented with a question, I answer it to the best of my ability.  And honestly some respect needs to be given to the actual leader of a family, only because simply they have shown enough to allow you to be there, everyone has to earn more than what you will initially give them.  I for one, give only enough respect to people so that I will not chastise them or generally be a dick.  But if they show the same amount of respect towards me, then they earn a little more.  And it continues like that, until eventually total loyalty also comes with, and you are defending the reputation of the other.  I agree its all a two way street, just matters as to how willing each end is to meet in the middle.

The worthless carcass comment now, well it definatly is not ment to be that someone is worthless to the family.  But in fact it is probably ment to show that all people are worthless, until they have the chance to prove themselves otherwise.  So when you are takin in by that family, you are no longer worthless, until you prove that you are worthless.  I came here knowing that there was a chance I wouldn't be takin in, because I wasn't worth the time.  And just like everyone else, I started off just a worthless single cell, once I joined in with Jammin, I felt a sense of being, of worth.  Not saying that necessarilly I am actually worth anything to them, hope that I am worth something, but I don't have to be.  If I can prove my worth then it matters not if I was worth anything to them, but I proved I was worth something to others, and they would see that, and maybe next time they would take me in.

As for fighting for your family and defending them, well you should only defend if they will defend you, fight back if they are willing.  But if they expect you to do all the work for no pay, then simply don't do it.  It goes back to the respect and loyalty thing.  If you respect someone enough to defend their reputation, would you not respect them enough to defend them from being shot?  Or at least avenge them if they are killed?  War is brutal, there can't be any denying this, you will always have those who play it stealthly, and will abandon the fight now, and later stab the enemy in the back while he is not looking.  And there are those who will stay long enough to allow others to flee and fight another day, its simply a personal choice.  I myself am one to go down fighting, to allow others to come back and fight again.  If I am to be killed before I get a chance to defend myself, I will find a way back, or simply as such, hope my kin will fight for me.  Either way, you are going to fight, if you respected and were loyal to your family.  If you don't, then you were never on said ship in the first place, and therefor could not jump it.

And Popcorn, I have to say that to me, I would give you more respect, and possibly even help you in your crusade to avenge your fallen family members.  Even if someone greater than me said not to fight, I would, if they killed the only thing I held dear to me?  Who wouldn't?  I would not say you were an extreme loyalist, but simply you were loyal, if they were truly your family and you didn't fight back just because some man on top said no, then I would consider you a coward and you would lose my respect.  Thats just my personal opinion on that, and I know not everyone will think the same.

Having said what he needed to say, Emilio sits back, waiting for the opinions of others, and what others have to say about his.
