A Ghost Started by: Immortal on Jan 29, '12 02:35

Ice cold sheets of rain pelted the ground, as Immortal trudged down the streets. Her pant legs were soaked from were she had stepped in a few puddles and she clinched her jacket tighter to herself, trying to get any warmth left in it to reach her verses being lost to the elements around her. Something had settled deep into her heart that night and she let out a sigh. Her breath reached out against the rain droplets and was lost as lightening illuminated the sky.

Shuddering a bit at the clap of thundered echoed across the streets, she found herself just stopping a moment. She closed her eyes briefly and shook her fear from her head as she continued on her path.

She wasn't exactly sure as to what she was supposed to be doing but she followed the directions that Stamina had sent to her. She looked up as she reached 4th street and then paused under the street light. Reaching in her pocket to pull out a smoke she rolled her eyes as she realized that she had no matches then mummered to herself. Turning right, she stepped again in another puddle and cursed it.
What a crappy night for this. Her own voice echoed in her head as she wondered why she absolutely had to meet whomever it was at where ever these directions took her too.

Realizing she was almost there she picked up her pace a bit. Seeing the building she took a step back and wondered why she was at such a shit hole. She reached for the door knob and then looked down as the door didn't budge yet the handle came off in her hand.

Really.. I'm so glad I didn't get dressed up for this one. After rolling her eyes, she gave the door a hard shove as it literally fell to the ground. She shook her head as she took a few steps across the wood. The place smelt of death and decay as she winced a bit as the stagnant air hit her senses.

Hello? She walked further down the front hall and jumped a bit as she ran into a spiderweb. Damn it Stamina the shit you make me do. She picked the web off her clothes and sighed. Peering against the dim light, she saw a door that seemed to have a bright glow that penetrated the rotten wood and shimmered against the wooden floor. Umm.. Hello? Her voice was louder this time and she saw a shadow scurry across the door. She was utterly disgusted by the place but she walked to the door, and then gently to avoid breaking the handle off pulled on it.

The light hit her eyes alot brighter then she thought it would compared to the hallway she walked down and she winced a bit, rubbed her eyes and tried to get herself adjusted to the light.

Immortal.. Hello She looked up and almost froze as her eyes fell on the man that stood before her. He sat down with the gun in his hand pointed at her and smirked. Now now come in relax. You looked as if you have seen a ghost. His smile taunted her as she refused to move. Didn't expect you would actually fall for that stupid note, but then again.. He lit a smoke and then took in a long drag. You did always do everything you were asked to didn't you? He exhaled and she watched the smoke seem to float as if a ghost was in the room through the thick air.

Immortal took in a deep breath as she slowly let her hand slide to hip.
I wouldn't do that if I were you. She felt a sudden shove from behind her as she fell to the floor. She went to push herself back up and she felt a heavy hand on her holding her where she was. You know you fucking touch me and there's hell to pay.. Immortal's voice didn't even shake as she nearly screamed at the man.

You see Immortal.. No one can hear you, and there's another lovely little note at your place saying you ran away with He snickered loudly before he continued your man... So who do you really think they will come after? Someone you all thought to be dead or someone they will all know you were with? The hand that held her down violently grabbed her arm and jerked her up. She watched as the man stood up and walked to her. Standing but a few steps from her he exhaled his smoke in her face and she found herself coughing at the mix of his awful stench and the smoke stinging her lungs.

She's pretty isn't she? She watched as he raised the gun again to her and she felt the hand grip her even tighter bruising her skin as his thumb dug deep into her.

She didn't even think of dying at that moment and she kicked hard just barely missing the man, and squirmed against the person behind her holding her. Not able to get away she stopped as she felt a hard hand slap her across the face. She couldn't do much in retaliation as she fell to the floor. She felt the cold steal of the gun press hard against her temple and she looked up at him.

PULL IT! JUST FUCKING PULL IT! She screamed at him as she noticed him trembling a bit. Grow a pair and PULL...

A loud bang rang out and echoed the corridors of the abandoned building and then a loud second shot. Immortal stayed against the floor briefly till she felt the wetness of blood seep against her hands. She glanced over her shoulder, and gave a slight smirk as she slowly got up off the floor.

You know what would I do with out you following me everywhere I go? She wiped the blood on her pants that had drenched her palms and then shrugged as she looked at the two dead men. This time you will stay dead. She pulled out her gun and fired another round in each of their heads watching the bullet explode from their temples splattering what was left of their brains on the floor. Forever! Her lips mouthed the words as she looked back at the man standing in the doorway.

This is extremely unfair. It is like someone ripped the last page out of the book and we don't get to read the ending!

Sneaker mumbles and grumbles thinking of how she has been robbed of an ending!

Report Post Tip

I agree with sneaker, robbing people of an ending is no good.

Nightmare walks away wondering why she wasted her time in reading

Immortal snickers a bit.

Well we all have different tastes in things we like, and perhaps you are robbed of an ending.. or.. Immortal smiles Perhaps I like to lead you to think, Sneaker, so that your own creativeness will blossom and run wild with ideas.

Nightmarelady I apologize that it was a waste of your time, but as much as I'd like to make something everyone would enjoy I can't. Perhaps if I did venture on another story oneday you would enjoy it a bit more. She nods a bit and then walks away.

It was not a waste of my time Immortal. It was a cliffhanger. Like a tv series that ends for the season and you have to wait 5 months to find out what happened. I love it. I must admint, I AM waiting for the answer :)

Report Post Tip

I on the other hand absolutely HATE having to be put thru a cliffhanger and not recieve an ending, makes me feel unhappy and unfulfilled. Good story but having no ending really pulls it down. Maybe you should make a mini-series.

DD claps his hands, he enjoyed the story.

I personally hate a cliff hanger.

DD says jokingly, chuckling while he does.

But only because i hate suspense and cant wait to learn what happens next. It was a great read, and i really hope you make a second part.
