Shit had hit the fan, and blood was all over the ground.

Amira sat in dim light in her office at Top Job Studios. For a terrifying two hours, she was a widow; or so she thought. It wasn't until Kenny got a call through to the safe house that her head stopped spinning. He was alive. For the first time in longer than she could remember, Amira bowed her head and thanked a god she'd given up on long ago. Then, she stood up and turned her focus sharply ahead.

As long as Joe lived, the Ligambi Crime Family lived. She'd made her vows to be his partner; for better or worse, in sickness and in health. Amira knew that her job now was to see that his rich legacy continued. When he was well enough- and he would be- he would find that all he gained, all he fought for over the years would still be there; still thriving. 

There was much to do. There were loved ones to mourn, buildings to rebuild, and countless other things to put into place. As she looked out over the darkness of LA just past midnight, Amira saw her reflection in the window. It was then that she realized the life she had lived- the lives she had lived prepared her for this. She had been, if nothing else, steadfast in loyalty and duty. Nothing changed now.

Turning to her desk, she picked up the receiver and pressed a button.

"Franco, get me home. We've got work to do."
