One Man's Point of View Started by: Tommy on Feb 02, '12 12:07

This speech has, in various forms, been stated, said and done to death.  Nevertheless, that doesn't, in and of itself, make it redundant.

I am but a lowly thug blessed with, in terms of this thing, aristocratic blood.

My bloodline shall remain nameless, but has scaled great heights, done many great things and been at the very epicentre of years of turmoil on these streets.

My bloodline is therefore qualified to talk, here, on these streets in an authoratative manner.

This is how I see it.

Over in England, a few years ago, a man named Freud stated that insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.  What we have, here in these 8 cities, is nothing less than collective insanity.

A cabal, consisting of a few bloodlines, effectively control the daily lives of dozens, if not hundreds, of people.  The Gods have created a wonderful world for us to live in and what do we do with it?  We come to these streets bitching and moaning and say we want something different.

Well, I for one am fed up with this and wish to take a stand.

We need a new way, not an old way, of doing things.  We need bluesky thinking and a strategy.

I'll list the changes needed by bullet points

* A regular, free press, with a designated Press Czar.  The Press Czar should be someone who has scaled great heights, done many great things and been at the very epicentre of years of turmoil on these streets.  He should be given $1M from each family for his services and be considered untouchable

* A proper sitdown chamber should be formed.  Each family should have a seat at this sitdown and ratification be required at a sitdown for every killing of a Mademan or above - except in times of war.

* A war office - co-ordinated by the Press Czar, every war should be announced in the Press, otherwise deemed a terrorist attack.

* A citizen's city.  Those who want to earn without the constraints, or support, of a family should be allowed to stay in an unoccupied city and earn away.  If they travel, they are fair game

These are well thought out, reasonably easy to implement and quite illogical steps towards a more stable society.

Please note that I will not be drawn on who I am, suffice to say that I am very well qualified.

I eagerly await your feedback.  Trolls will be ignored and their BGs shot.  If they don't have any BGs, their colleagues BGs will be shot.

You speak of aristocratic blood yet you finish your expose with a threat of terrorist nature. You lost a lot of respect from me there.

However, some of the things you say here have some merit so I shall go on.

- Not sure who would be qualified to be the Press Czar since you are suggesting he has a salary of 15mill that could go up to 30 or even more. IS that per issue, btw?

- There are already places where every leader can be heard, #crewleader being one of them. Also, the same idea was already attempted with the GFC. The last few wars just has that project a bit left behind. I'm sure they'll pick it up.

- Not sure what you mean by announcing each war in the press. I'm sure you are not suggesting the announce it beforehand, and after the fact, do we really need any announcing?

- A citizen's city. It's an interesting idea, but I don't think they should be allowed to live there beyond a week old.

Is confused by the use of "freepress" which should be controled by aristocratic blood.

WOuld this not influence the press, even bias it? Maybe a newcomer with no ties is a better option.

I, I mean Tommy meant that $1M per family - upfront cost, that's it.

I think the Press Czar should be someone with a strong street presence, someone who isn't afraid to say what they think.  Someone who gets a reaction.  Someone who isn't bothered about being a CL.

Each war, the reasons it was fought and the outcome should be reported.  Otherwise there's just a lot of noise and confusion.  The war would be declared after it started, obviously.

The citizen's city with a time limit is good, yes.

It seems Tommy has jumped off a bridge ending his life. Is it because much of this is a major fail?

Any family that announced a war at the inception would be foolish. The citizens city is not needed. It would tie up what could potentially be a viable city in which mafioso could conduct business and reside. If a made man or above is unjustly whacked, whoever is responsible should die. An eye for an eye. No need to talk about it. We also already have a news source complete with interviews, stories etc.
