* A regular, free press, with a designated Press Czar.  The Press Czar should be someone who has scaled great heights, done many great things and been at the very epicentre of years of turmoil on these streets.  He should be given $1M from each family for his services and be considered untouchable

Things are going well with the creation of the Press Czar, only a few CLs have indicated that they don't want to participate.

Sneaker will never provide any information. What happens in a family shold stay in the family. The press has no need to know the business of the alleged mafioso.

He'll co-ordindate press releases on behalf of the families and also publish statements fron individuals and groups who want to say something anonymously.

Ahhh.... Will he have any super special powers? Anything to worry about?

I think its just another rip off myself. Anyone who actually supports him is just going to be losing a million dollars.

There was just a similarly unneeded post about letting anyone set up a crew. Go ahead, come up with a billion ideas, but post them in the suggestions, and please put a little more thought into them.

What a brilliantly amazing idea. I do agree that it would be beneficial to have a neutral, dedicated pressman to allow families to release statements, as well as those naughty underground groups to stay anonymous. In my opinion, the press Czar would also have to abide by the following

• They are not allowed to join a family; this will take away their neutrality
• They should not use their gun; they are here to provide us with information, not to kill folk
• They should not pass the rank past Wise Guy; they are here to provide us with information, not be a criminal
• He should not be paid $1,000,000 by the Crew Leaders, but actually by statement released. May I suggest $250,000 per statement; a journalist is never in it for the money

Tyler, this doesn't belong in "Suggestions". He is addressing US, the mobsters. He's not suggesting that anybody in City Hall changes worldwide policies. He is trying to convince us to do something.

in my view none spring to mind and it could leave him open to accusations of being impartial,leaking information he was privy to etc

The floating membership would mean that he had the protection of all of the GFs

Unless, there was some way of the Gods allowing him to be protected from a bullet - or at least leading to dire consequences for those who attacked him?

I would have thought that such a person would be better suited to the Tribune Editor role.

Our last issue was in October, if records are correct.

I think this is too much power for one man, to ensure impartiality since the blood line of this person is well known for banging his own trumpet and working to his own agenda. Maybe we need a working oversight group to see the original works before coming to print.

There could be a steering group, yes, but ultimately the Press Czar will lose credability if he is shown to be non-impartial.

He would indeed Pat_ but there has to be a mechanism whereby he can be proven to be.
