The past meets present. Started by: Eddie-Scarpa on Feb 06, '12 07:13

It was a rainy night in Vegas, after handling some business I began to head home. On the way I spotted a diner and decided to stop in. I entered the establishment and found an empty seat, as I sat down a waitress approached me and replied "how are you tonight sir?...what would you like?". I stared at the menu for a few seconds before deciding. "I'll have the club sandwich and a cup of coffee." She writes the order down and heads for the kitchen.

About ten minutes later the waitress returns and places my food on the table, "would you like anything else sir?". "I'm okay for right now, thanks".

As I pick up my sandwich and go to take a bite the door to the diner swings open, the bell sounds, with my sandwich still in hand I lift my head, and when I do I am amazed at what I see. It was him...Giorgio from Atlantic City, an old business partner. I stir my coffee and watch him approach the counter..."ham sandwich" he was always an arrogant prick, Giorgio was just like his brother Jimmy who was another business partner I worked with in AC, or as he referred to himself...boss.

See I grew up in Palermo Sicily, spent my youth there...my father, well my father died when i was 7, never knew much about him or what he did. By the time I was 15 my mom passed and I had no one left but my brother Nicky who was the same age as me. After a few more months in Sicily I asked my brother if he wanted to move away with me, he told me he found a job at a bakery which was owned by Ralph and his wife who were friends of the family. He told me that Ralph and his wife would take us both in and give us jobs...I respectably declined, from there me and Nicky parted ways...but we always stayed in touch over the phone.

I got on the first flight to AC, can't lie...I was a little nervous, I mean not to be alone, me and my brother could always handle ourselves, but for me to move somewhere I was not familiar with...that was where the nerves set in. After arrival in AC I found a shitty motel and landed a job fixing cars, I was always good with my hands, I worked there for a few months...even saved up some decent cash. But on this one night I was walking home and encountered these two guys who looked to be the same age as me, they had seen me working on the cars and told me they wanted someone with my skills to work with them. When i asked them what kind of jobs they wanted me to do they said...steal, strip and fix cars. Now most people would say no, but what can I say I had a fucked up childhood and I always loved money.

So for many years I worked side by side with these guys, as time went on they tried to get into other things...things they couldn’t handle. They tried cheating casino's...robbing stores...and even tried to collect. They were wannabee wiseguys, scumbags...me, I was quiet, had a bad violent side and knew if I got in contact with the right people, I could make it to the big time. About 1 month after I turned 23 I was finally arrested and sentenced to 5 years, I knew I would get caught eventually...i mean no one is untouchable, one problem though, I know I was set up, my whole problem was trying to figure out who. I served my time and after I was released I took the cash i had stashed and got me a decent place, thought I could lay low for awhile and take it easy, but I was wrong.

Few weeks later someone climbed through my window and attempted to kill me, but I was ready...I knew Jimmy and Giorgio would try to become something there not...gangsters. Soon as the hired gun turned the corner into the kitchen I stabbed him right in the throat and watched as he bleed to death. After that I packed my things and about 9k in cash, then headed for the airport, this time I was off to sin city...but this time, it was home.

Only took a short time before I met Cassi and Phantom...true gangsters in Vegas, they are the ones who gave me my shot...and i acted on the opportunity, and through time I been working side by side with them. So here i am tonight in this diner staring at this scumbag. I sat there for a few minutes to think, I mean I knew I was going to kill him...I just didn’t know how. After thinking it over for a few more minutes I come up with an idea. I lock eyes with the waitress and signal for her to come to the table, when she walks over I quietly reply "see that guy at the table over there" I take out a card and tell her to place it on the counter without him seeing and not to tell him who gave it to her. The waitress walks over and places the card next to Giorgio.

After finishing his meal he sees the card and picks it up, I see him glance at it and put it down. As he walks out of the diner I approach the counter and hand the waitress a $100 bill and wink as I thank her. I quickly get to my car and prepare to follow Giorgio. I follow him undetected all the way to the place where I knew the dumbass would go if he seen the card. The old country inn, my establishment in Vegas which has a hotel, and of course with him being from AC I knew he needed a place to stay. As he is parking his car I pull up to the front and talk to one of my workers. "See that car over there!, when that guy gets to the door tell him it's locked for the night, and he needs to use the back door, then park my car ok." The worker nods as i head to the office to grab my gun, and a piece of fabric to tie around my face, I then head out the door and into the bushes waiting for Giorgio.

After a few minutes, sure enough he heads around the corner and i jump out from the bushes, "Hold on Giorgio, Jimmy sent me to help you...Eddie's in there, he owns the place." Giorgio responds "I told Jimmy I didn’t need help" I reply "your right Giorgio", I slowly take the fabric off and pull the gun out from the back of my pants and fire a shot right into Giorgio’s chest. Soon as he's hit he flies into the building, I reply "you don't need help, because you don’t need it where your going". Coughing up blood and holding his chest he replies softly "wh...where's that?" I respond "The fucking desert!." I point the gun at his forehead and reply "your nothing, just like your brother, thinks he's going to send you here to kill me...I've always been smarter then both of you." I fire another shot right through Giorgio’s head, then a third and final bullet through his chest for a second time.

I then drag him deep into the desert which is conveniently located behind my establishment, and get rid of the evidence.

Roy while I am happy to say its true you can say your thoughts on anything around this thing of ours, there is no need for disrespect while this man has taken time out of his day to say his story if you found it boring you move on and find something else to do or listen too. Its considered rude to tell someone they are broing you.

It was wonderful to hear this tale Eddie. May I say it is by far one of the better tales that you have shared with all of us? With more tales like these, I expect you shall become quite the storyteller in this thing of ours. I hope you continue with more stories such as these.

Eddie! Hell of a story! Or should I say memory? You are one bad son of a bitch! Don't worry about those who tend to bitch & moan, if you've got haters you must be doing something they are jealous of!
