This was all that Sonny had envisioned and more, two rows of stall forming a central "road". The road was strewn with hay to give the comfy feeling. The stalls would soon be filled with all sorts of Christmassy goods. Gluhwien, candied apples, santa sitting on his sled taking wishes from the kids. Sonny had even hired a choir to sing Christmas carrols to make the mood just rigth. This was gonna be a wonderfull market. Sonny had invited all his business associates from across Motor City. He was hoping the showup would be grand, but how could it not. All of the Motor mobster had the chance to get their own stall selling whatever food, drink or Christmas decoration...well anything their heart desired. Sonny had arranged his own stall to sell the best Gluhwein. Carefully spiced redwine, cinnamon, kardemomme, nelliker, almonds and raisin. Hearted gently and then added some rom and some snaps. This stuff tasted purely of Christmas and would give you a good buzz. Sonny sat in his stall looking for his fellow motor mobsters to show up. |

People are laughing, some are singing Christmas carols. It smells of Gluhwein, roasted almonds and fir branches. Suddenly, a scream breaks through the festive atmosphere. "It's started snowing! Just look!" Nuccio, flanked by two bodyguards, stops and looks around. He hesitates for a moment, shrugs his shoulders and then continues to walk through the alleyways of the market. From time to time he shakes hands with acquaintances, greets business partners and friends. Then he stops in front of Sonny's Gluhwine stall. Sonny grins at Nuccio, a steaming mug in his hand. Nuccio pours himself a glass and takes a big sip. "Sonny, your mulled wine really is the best. But I have to get going before my customers miss me. Merry Christmas, my friend!" Nuccio strolls on to his own little house. The fairy lights around the stall twinkle and colorful Christmas baubles hang on the walls. A few customers are already standing in front of it, looking at the display. - An excellent opportunity to stand out in the crowd with something legal. |

Lucy takes a stroll down the street. She sees the nice market that Sonny had set up and decides to try some of that Gluhwein that he was serving.
"I am sorry. It's just that this stuff is amazing!" Lucy said.
She breathed in the cold air and enjoyed the choir's performance. Back in Palermo, She would only ever dream of such event. Even though she didn't like the cold, she could stay there for hours.
However, she could not stay there forever. She had a job she needed to do for her higher ups. She thanked Sonny for this wonderful evening and headed home to warm up... |

Giacomo allows himself to smile as the snowflakes fall over the scene at the market. He watches his guys finish unloading the last of the goods into his stall and he straightens the wares on their display tables. He had enlisted the help of a baker for whom he provides protection to prepare an assortment of Christmas cookies, pies, and other confections to offer shoppers at a steep discount. His stall would be operating at a financial loss, but the goodwill that would result is more valuable. Satisfied things look good, Giacomo picks up the two pastry boxes he had set aside and starts down the avenue through the other stalls. He catches himself mouthing the words to the carols being sung by the choir Sonny had hired, but he can't help himself be lifted by the festivities. Speaking of Sonny, he approaches the stall of his friend, inhaling the scent of the cinnamon spiced Gluhwien being offered. Before he helps himself to a mug, Giacomo extends his right hand for a shake and his left offering a gift. The pastry box contains macarons, the baker's specialty, dyed red and green for the holiday, and atop the box rests an envelope stuffed with cash to show appreciation for Sonny's efforts. "Sonny, you've outdone yourself this year. The market looks great and the Gluhwien is delicious," he says as he takes a long drink from the mug, relishing the feeling of the warm liquid flowing into his stomach. "Enjoy the well-deserved fruits of your labor. I'm going to pay my respects to Nuccio, but we'll talk soon." Giacomo drains the last of the wine in his mug, then starts off in the direction of Nuccio's stall. Once there, he offers another box of macarons and the requisite envelope of cash to his leader. "The place looks great, doesn't it, boss? Gotta love this time of year, and be hopeful for a few days of peace. I don't wanna take up too much of your time, and I should get back to my stall. The boys are a little out of their depth trying to interact with all these civilians." With a nod, Giacomo turns and moves back to his stall, smiling happily as he sees families from the neighborhood enjoying the music and the market. |

Summer had a driver drop her off. Keith rode in the front seat, Summer always wondered if he was part dog. Though, he would stay with the driver this time...Summer wouldn't be long. She walked into the market and put on her best, "lost and looking for something face" in an attempt to get some help. It wouldn't be long before someone approached. When they did she had a list of items she was looking for, which read:
- Find these things OR ELSE -
She glanced at the list again, making sure she knew exactly what was on it as she was likely to hand it over to anyone working here. As she waited she thought to herself, "I wonder if I Keith knows about Christmas." |
