No One's Share - Search, Part 3 Started by: Summer on Dec 27, '24 20:52

Summer moved through the HQ as fast as she could without injuring anyone in her path. She knew she needed to gather the specific items she already had and make sure they were stored as safely as possible, it would be life or death after-all. After ensuring they were locked away she sought out the Boss…this wasn’t going to be an easy conversation.

“Keith! Seriously get over here and stop pissing and pooping everywhere! I’m the one who has to clean that up!”

Summer shouted but by all indications Keith the goat was not listening. He was given orders from the Big Boss, SantoRubio, and what exactly those orders were Summer didn’t know. All she knew is that last she spoke to SantoRubio he was clear…

Santo sat behind his desk stroking a goat. As summer approached she thought to herself,

“I know it's not always the same goat, or is it? How does it always seem to be the same size? How does goat aging even work?”

She noticed Santo watching carefully and realized she was taking up his time and should speak instead of just standing there thinking about goat anatomy…

“Sir, I have recently come across an opportunity to potentially unlock the mysteries of an ancient treasure containing unimaginable amounts of gold. I would like to use a few people from the HQ to help track down a clue. Can I please have your blessing to involve family members on my quest?”

Santo thinks for a moment before responding…

“Sure you can use a few people. I would like you to take Keith the goat with you to keep an eye on things for me.”

Santo presses a button under his desk causing the door to swing open, hooves can be heard moving closer and closer down the hall…clip….clop….clip….clop

In walks Keith the goat wearing a rugged white coat, long curly horns, and crooked yet sharp teeth. Santo addresses Keith the goat…

“Summer is going on an adventure, like some sort of hobbit. I would like you to assist her.”

Santo waves Summer away, dismissing her to speak to Keith the goat privately. As she steps out Santo nods to Keith the goat and he takes a few steps closer. Summer presses her ear to the door…

“...eye on her…things…from you know who”

After only a few moments the sound is obvious…clip…clop…clip….clop, Keith the goat is about to come through the door. Summer backs away and acts uninterested, like she was merely waiting for Keith the goat and NOT listening in. She looks in before the door closes and notices Santo folding paper, she quickly says,

“Does this goat speak english? Are you making paper airplanes?”

The door closes without a response. Summer faces Keith the goat and smiles.

“Do you speak English?”

Without a word Keith the goat begins to walk away dropping poop down the hallway. As he reaches the end he waits, staring blankly at Summer.

Summer sighs…

“Right….Well, fuck me I guess. Let's do this Keith the goat.”

She cleans up his mess before heading to the safe. She grabs a few items, making sure to keep them as hidden as possible. She notices Keith the goat leaning over her shoulder and shows him what she is grabbing before wrapping it up and sticking it in a bag. She closes the safe and smiles at Keith the goat as she says,

“I’ve set up a meeting at the local university. We are meeting with a professor of Egyptian Art and Archaeology. She claims she will be able to identify and potentially translate what's written on our items. If we get lucky, this could be the break we need.”

Summer gets Keith the goat into a car and makes the drive to the University. As she parks she turns to Keith the goat and says,

“Please, please wait in the car. I really don’t want to figure out how to explain what you even are.”

She gets out of the car and closes the door but by the time she hears it shut, she can see Keith the goat standing outside of the car opposite of her, staring…always staring. She sighs,

“Fuck me I guess…”

The two of them make their way into the building, through the halls and into the professor's office. Summer walks in as if nothing about what is happening is abnormal. The professor screams and points at Keith the goat while shouting,

“Whhhhhaaaat is that thing!?! Why…What…You, you, you did not…WHAT IS THAT?!?”

Summer laughs and places her hands on the professor's shoulders. She gets her to sit down in her chair and attempts to comfort her with an explanation,

“Well, this is Keith the goat. He won't hurt you. Please can I show you the items we spoke about?”

The professor isn’t as easily put to ease as Summer hoped. The professor takes a few gasps of air and is clearly unsettled when she says,

“Yes please. Anything to get that thing away from me. Its eyes are deeply unsettling.”

Summer removes the pieces from her bag and places them on the desk. The professor looks over them closely, even using a magnifying glass and light to observe the small details. After a few moments she writes the translations down on a piece of paper and slides them to Summer. She takes a deep breathe and says,

“I wrote it here for you. It is ancient Egyptian. It roughly translates to “During the Brightest Night find the Golden City”. Please take that thing out of here and never come back!”

The professor points towards the door and Summer smiles as she walks away. Summer and Keith the goat make their way back to headquarters.

Summer, with Keith the goat close by, places a sign in the main section of the HQ.

It reads:

“Search major locations within each city, district, or even locations within the district. Try to avoid doubling up on locations to increase efficiency. Let me know what you find. Remember, we are looking for a Golden Building which can only be found on The Brightest Night.”

The streets were dark and the sound of a pin dropping could be heard. Flexx was out on a quick hustle for tonight. He needed to put the work in first, and he was glad to. Flexx liked to hustle so he was pretty good at it. What better way to lead than to show by example. He stood on the corner as he fired up his blunt. While doing his thang, he was tasked to look for a certain building in a certain location, but the night was full of mist and you couldn’t even see the stars let alone the moonlight. Flexx stayed on his mission while hustlin, as well as collecting pieces of information while he moved. Looking for something seemed easy enough, and something with a bright color of gold would be even easier. While putting in his work, Flexx kept an eye out for the prize. Downtown Los Angeles was a place where activity was a norm. With his head always on a swivel, he made his way up the block. The hustle was good, but the mark was not found. As it was getting late Flexx was going to have to wrap it up for the night, and ride out another night. The low would be having to report that nothing was found. Flexx hops on his first flight he could catch back to the HQ in New York. Even though he didn’t find what he was looking for, he did want to report that he did see a lot of activity in its surrounding areas, Coincidence? Maybe but the research must continue.

The more Madison listened to @Summer the more intrigued she became.

Being the niece of no ordinary jewelry maker Uncle Pierre taught me that every gem and metal he worked with held a story, woven from the myths of the earth itself.  The quest to obtain hidden treasures has always fascinated me.

When Summer suggested gold treasures were stashed away in Philly, a familiar place, according to her description, came to mind with excitement.

"A golden building" which can only be found by "The Brightest Night".

According to Moon lore, the full Moon brings good luck.  I remembered the night with the bright moon shining, I headed to the Holy Roller Casino.  It was owned by an eccentric billionaire named g0d. It’s designed to look like a colossal cathedral.  The way the moon lit that casino’s dome up was magical.  The Holy Roller Casino was the golden building, and the full moon was the brightest night.  If gold was hidden somewhere in Philly, it had to be there.

After fierce negotiating by my good friend, @MeyerLansky  we were granted permission to search the vacant casino.

We gathered a team and started our search.  The Casino was dusty but still beautiful as I remembered with the stained glass windows depicting the four Aces and the dice chandeliers.

We searched every inch of that place, even hiring special locksmiths and safecrackers. We found some jewelry, which we turned over to his heirs—but No Gold.

Saddened that her expectations of finding gold were scattered, Madison returned to the Headquarters to inform Summer of her failed mission.
