"It's just a joke", when someone tries to confront someone else for being rude, and they respond with that. It's a weak way to defend yourself and avoid taking accountability for how you have hurt someone or a manipulative way to try and make the other person seem like they are taking it too seriously and shouldn't be hurt by it, when their feelings are completely valid. |

"life goes on." and sometimes for grieving people it doesn't. when I lost my dad, I literally felt frozen in time and I cant even tell you the amount of times I've heard, "Time heals," which absolutely isn't true. |

Haven't heard anyone else say this but as a kid it very much made me angry, growing up my mother had a boyfriend that was always on my case, and when I would make a decision he would say "what made you decide that did you assume it was a good idea?" then the prick would say you know you should never assume anything because it makes an ass out of u and me, assume. Hated that dude lol. |

I Dont Understand The Yes Please Daddy One Personally ;).
Thus far these have been some of the more classic phrases I would expect to have read. Glad to know people find them equally as annoying as I do. I guess I should not have assumed that life would go on but it is what it is. Obviously this is a joke. (Think I covered all 4 of them there)
Ive found a special amount of dislike for "We learn from our mistakes" It is a motivational poster quote which has no substance. Additionally, if this is true why is the first murder not forgivable as having learned from it? |

Guys... I have to admit. I have trouble with a lot of the new slang and such coming out with the new generation of middle/elementary schoolers... I think I might be getting old. Folks older than me... Was my generation that bad? Oyyyy |

To Tell The Truth or To Tell You The Truth or Not Going To Lie. All Of them should not need to be said unless everything else you say is a lie? |

"You made your bed now lie in it." Of course I'm gonna lie in it. Why would I make it if I wasn't? |

"What doesn't kill you makes you stronger" is just false. Many illnesses or accidents leave people permanently handicapped, weakened, ill, etc. |

"Pull yourself up by your bootstraps" is a phrase that was initially attributed to a physics schoolbook that led with the premise of "Why can not a man lift himself by pulling up on his bootstraps". It was always intended to be sarcastic when it initially entered the lexicon, but is now used as some motivating phrase to stroke off whatever-the-fuck hustle generation we're in now. |

Well I've always on mind my father's keynote. Parents say many truths not wondering that a simple moment of listening can be advantageous as Kids. That was : " Our Will is a key of success" |

"You need to apply yourself more." Like I was just sitting here giving my half-ass effort. Sometimes you dont know the effort that I put in and the struggles that I go through with some stuff. But no, if you can do it, anyone else can, right? no one else has problems, no else can have issies you don't have. |
